UGA recruits a little better than UT. Kirby is the 2nd best coach in the conference. They are just more consistent.
We did find something about their QB in the Bama game. He does not throw with accuracy on the run even going to his right. If he is running full speed vs the rush he has problems.

I checked with google maps and you are correct. It is 235.6 miles from Athens to Knoxville, and 273.7 miles from Athens to Tuscaloosa.

The Tennessee program that has not won a relevant game since 2007. And just lost 34 to 7 to Kentucky.
Pretty ridiculous comment. I used to think the UGA fan base was delusional. Tennessee replaces that slot now

Exactly. Back in the 90s, Tennessee raided all the surrounding states for talent. They aren't able to do that like they were then. Saban closed Alabama and first Richt, and then Smart closed Georgia to them.

It wasn't so long ago that the West was the JV.

Tennessee is closer to what they have been for the last 10 years than they are to Bama.

If the East could get Tenn back to its former glory it would really help strengthen that division. UF seems to have turned the corner under Mullen which helps. It needs at least one more strong team though if that side of the conference wants to carry the banner for the SEC. The SEC really needs to go out and pick off another good school so it can help strengthen the East up while moving Mizzou to the west.

Can't believe UT fans are talking shite. In the last two decades UGA, UF and LSU have passed UT up in historical terms. Im not even sure UT is ahead of AU at this point.
UT is much closer to AU than they are to UGA.
Of the Big 6
1) Bama
big drop
2) LSU
3) UGA
4) UF
small drop
5) AU
Big drop
6) UT
Since expansion, UT has 2...fricking 2.. SEC Championships. STFU about being an elite program. You don't have one in 22 years. Not national titles, fricking conference championships.
At this point and time UT is much closer to A&M than they are to the other Big 6 schools. But sure, keep talking shite.
UGA/LSU have a Bama problem just like the rest of the conference. Saban is a monster and is the best CFB football coach of all time and at this time, its really not close. Bowden and FSU back in their hey day are the only school that has really had this type of prolonged success for more than a decade. Ole Ball coach at UF and Tressel/UM at OSU are close and maybe Nebraska under Osborne were close, but this is an unprecedented run. No school has had the type of record Bama has with the number of national championships that Saban has had.
in the last 20 years, Saban has coached 18 years between LSU and Bama and has 6 national championships. He has a record of 183-27 since that 2003 season. Take out his first year at bama, he is 154-17 at bama. The whole fricking conference has a BAMA problem and honestly BAMA has always been everyones Daddy. UGA and LSU just happen to be the most successful sons.
The only schools that can consistently compete with bama right now is LSU/UGA/UF and honestly UF still has to prove it. UGA and LSU has proven they can get to the playoffs and compete.
TLDR: UT fans STFU, you are closer to A&M than you are UGA/LSU/UF

Still recruiting SC, NC, GA for the bulk of the team, Ca and Al are not as strong as they have been. Vols need for Va and Fl recruiting to improve.

Georgia, like Florida, can't be closed to outside recruiters. Too many players, too many transplants without the state loyalty. The Vols' problem is that Clemson (and to some extent Bama) get what they used to get in Georgia. Then, they turn to NC, but UNC is doing a better job with recruiting and Clemson is getting what they want from there too. Good news for the Vols is that Tennessee is growing and more good players are coming from that state now.

Georgia can't be completely closed, but they still get most of the ones they want, just like the major schools in Florida do. We weren't getting those with Goff and Donnan. The rest go to other schools like the afore mentioned Clemson and to some extent, S. Carolina. Tennessee's 1998 team had quite a few Georgians that UGA went hard after but didn't get. Grant, Lewis, and a couple of o-linemen whose names I can't remember. All of them were starters, though.

I think Garrison has worked her way into a Vol alter..

Auburn is the only team that can consistently beat Alabama.

Vols are allowed leftovers from ga. So are the cocks, your closest peers in the sec these days. Congrats smokeyone!

I get what you are saying, but I'm not sure 34- players, some of whom we did not go after heavily exactly constitutes raiding the state.

2021
Cody Brown #17 in state
Julian Nixon #25
2020
Bailey #15 in state
Calloway #21
Whitehead #22
2019
Morris #5
Keyton #13
McCollough #20
But to get a better picture you would have to see who Georgia chose at those positions. Other than Morris, I would be willing to bet we got higher rated players.

Once again, let me remind you, as someone always has to do in these threads, that this guy has won an SEC title since Tennessee has.

2020 was the best state of Tennessee recruiting group I’ve seen ever, so the need wasn’t as great to go out of state for a class.
2021 has a class as FL, AL, VA, NC, MD, GA, TN, TX, FL, AL, GA, TN, TN, GA, AL, AL, NC, FL, NC, FL, TN, TN, AL, NC, AL, GA,
UT needs ATL and N Georgia, NC/VA/MD, SC, AL, TX, CA recruits to be successful. Recruiting and philosophy is why the Vols cut a decent DLine coach go mid season. And I wouldn’t be shocked if Chip Long or Tee Martin replace Chaney this offseason.
