Deboer is a good coach and is going to win some games. The problem is everyone coming in and picking the Bama roster apart. If players keep jumping ship then he is gonna have to start from scratch just about and that gonna set him back 2-3 years.
Portal is worse for more talented and deep teams
Bama, UGA and Ohio St anyway - think UGA lost 18-20 with no significant changes to staff.
On top of that, you have a coaching change - this was going to happen and you should have expected it. It won’t be this bad for Bama every year.
Look on bright side Bammer, you are gonna lose a lot now and you will probably have your “Connor Stallions type” scouts at all the spring games at non-SEC teams and can add a ton in portal and DeBouer will get most of what he wants from Washington roster.

It might get even worse for you guys

Were Alabama fans complaining about getting NFL 1st round draft picks Gibbs and Williams from the portal?

We probably won’t see a minor league setup like baseball, just due to the revenue involved for colleges, but I’m optimistic we’ll have a better system or sense of normalcy in 5 or 10 years.
Cause it’s like the wild west right now and agree it’s hard to stay interested.

I think Bama should go into the portal and pull SuperFan Matthew McConahey from the University of Texas. He would have coattails and bring a lot of guys with him.

No one loves the portal. It is terrible and, coupled with lawless NIL, it is destroying college football.

All Bama schadenfreude aside, the portal does indeed suck. It’s ruining college football.

I know alot of y'all have had to deal with it while it's not been a big deal to Bama fans til now, but it just makes being a fan hard.
How do you think BAMA has been getting down to 85 players every year? You can't be that clueless.

Both are 100% true. Jermaine Burton and Eli Ricks are prime examples.
I’m sorry you’re literally too stupid and emotional to discuss this topic rationally. Burton is not evidence that Bama fans supported the transfer portal. As I said, the program got into the game like everyone else. But Saban as well as close to 100% of the Bama fans on this board have consistently said the portal is a shitty development for college football. Again, the talking point all all along on here was trolling Bama fans since the portal would negate Saban’s strength. This should be simple for you to understand and acknowledge if you’ve been around here a bit, but here we are.

For Ole Miss, we have been strong in using the portal since the start. Kiffin doesn't like the portal but he is using every tool that is allowed. More than half our starters from this past season came out of the portal. Even though it has improved our team, I still hate the concept. If something isn't done soon, college football will die.

Tough shite
I've been a fan since the mid 80s, this isn't my first hardship, Bubba.

Alabama fans like the portal when they get good players, they hate it when they lose good players.
Just like the rest of us.

The only good thing IMO that has come out of it is now we can all pay our players.
What would be good is if they were paid from actual CFB revenue.

Right. What he especially hates and so does every other head coach is that the portal is where the bidding starts. That is absolutely unsustainable.

FWIW, a lot of the numbers we see reported are massively inflated.
Like massively.

Are Bama fans even intelligent enough to recognize their own hypocrisy
They sure were laughing it up and loved it when they took Gibbs, Burton, To’o To’ and all American Eli Ricks lol. All stars that would never leave their teams before the portal. Talk about being hypocrites.

It doesn't make it any less than the same procedure. There are other reasons for jumping in, but regardless of the motivation, the next binding commitment is the same. It doesn't exist.
