I’m in pharmacy school, so I completely understand that sometimes it isn’t your fault. My question is, if it is simply due to poor choices, how can Elko preach discipline and not exercise it himself?

Most people can’t afford GLP-1s, and you have to meet some fairly strict criteria before insurance will pay for it.
