He fired Kliff Kingsbury and then the Arizona Cardinals hired Kingsbury as head coach a month later or so

Now he fires the current HC with a 5-3 record and the OU game this week, followed by a bye week

Wow. Who is this loser?

Kirby Hocutt.

He also hired Al Golden at Miami.

When he hired Matt Wells, Wells had been at Utah State for 6 seasons, and won 6 or fewer games for 3 of them during the middle of his tenure. Not sure this guy can pick 'em. Not sure if there's some Hocutt fatigue in Lubbock he was hoping to short circuit by pulling the plug on a 5-3 coach in year 3.

Bower resigned/got forced out the door when he was just 54. He probably had another decade of high level coaching in him.

I've known her for a while, and she's always been sweet and sincere.

Hocutt ran like a scalded ape from Miami after Nevin Shapiro started talking. He knows where all the bodies are buried.

He's the guy who has to answer to a donor that gave $20 million to the school for football. These aren't his decisions. LINK

When it comes to hiring and firing football HCs at P5s the vast majority of ADs are not the ones making the major decisions. It works the exact same way at every single SEC school save for maybe Vanderbilt.

Or Southern Miss canning Jeff Bower. That program is still reeling 14 years later.

To be fair though Wells first 2 seasons were sub .500 and TT has 4 ranked opponents left on schedule

OU
Iowa State
Okie State
Baylor

At best they’d finish 6-6, likely 5-7. They fired the coach so they could get a jump on a new hire

His wife made more money than him. She drove around in a pink Cadillac if I remember correctly. Top salesman in the country for Mary Kay makeup.

Honestly, I was not paying much attention to the title and thought this was going to be about Kirby Smart's hair.
