Did you know that Texas BBQ was brought over by the Germans in the mid 1800s?

Due to economic turmoil in the motherland, a large group of Germans moved to Central Texas around Fredericksburg and New Braunfels and were known for cooking large quantities of meats low and slow outside on a massive pit.

It’s really cool to see all the German shops and bakeries around those parts. Wurstfest in Nov is a blast. Just a weeklong drunk fest

That’s all I have to add to this thread

I heard UT(Austin) has a class where you go full trans for a day, go shopping for women’s clothes and write about it.

Have you been paying attention to Germany?
There are 84.552,000 million people who live in Germany. If there are a thousand in the streets protesting, then that means there are 84,551,00 million more who are not. The blanket statements are the problem. The loud minority gets all the coverage because even though it's distorted, it is what grabs the attention. Most people don't want good news, they want bad news. If there were no wrecks in a NASCAR race you couldn't sell a ticket to most of the people who attend the event....geez....

Geez, go do some research and tell me how formidable Germany's military is....TODAY. I don't need a history lesson. It's illegal to "insult" someone in Germany. How is that not soft?

It is interesting that besides Oklahoma and Texas... Missouri sent the most migrants out west during the 1930s.

Maybe the people of Texas can't, but that's likely because they are stupid. Are you one of those that can't pick it out?

I have actually been there a couple of times. By most people, I mean most people!

Readers Digest

quote:

The results from Sporcle’s “US States Quiz” make it clear that Missouri is the most forgotten state. The quiz has been attempted by players more than 19 million times, and Missouri is the state the lowest percent of people guess correctly. Only 77.6 percent of players manage to remember it, compared to the 97.3 percent who list California or Texas. The four most-forgotten states behind Missouri are Connecticut, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Nebraska.

Sorry for making you look stupid.

poooor Fodder, trys to be clever and thinks he is funny then Buster turns him into Texas fodder by making him look stupid and foolish.

The Germans fell in love with their wunder weapons to the point they developed weapons they couldn’t mass produce, and weren’t effective for what they spent on them. V-2 rockets and He-162 come to mind. The Allies built bombers that carried much larger payloads for far less cost and were mass produced. The He-162 was not as maneuverable as the P-51 and it ran out of fuel quickly. The Allies learned to follow them down and hit them when landing.

When your country prepares for war for years and faces civilians quickly drafted then you look real tough. But those farm boys learned quickly and got pretty damn tough themselves in the Ardennes. They stopped the Germans cold and sent them back with their tails between their legs.

But most of all, rounding up civilians and torturing them and massacring them isn’t toughness. It is just evil.

Now I don’t think Texans are soft either. Audie Murphy wasn’t.

If so, it was because all your topsoil was landing on our heads. The only way to literally get away from Oklahoma was to move West of it so the dirt didn't rain down on you.
