This is all a moot point. Auburn will just claim an undefeated season based on average opponent rankings, Freeze will get his 8th Natty at Auburn.

Unless you want to re-adjust schedules mid season there isn't a way to fix this.
There are ways to make things more even.
There should be parameters that no team should open with two consecutive SEC road games. It seems very doable to make sure all teams start out with one road game and one home game in the first two.
Secondly, no team should ever get Miss St, Kentucky, and Arkansas on a schedule in the same season. There is plenty of history that shows that those three along with Vandy historically are going to be in your bottoms 4-5 teams in most seasons.
Tennessee annd Texas were both assigned Miss St, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Vandy for last season and this season. It was pretty obvious they were going to have some of the easier schedules when they saw that slate.
Next year’s new format should help. But 2024 and 2025 will go down as the worst scheduling attempt the SEC has had in decades.

your attempt to frame 'median' as a coherent indicator of strength of schedule is a crime against mathematics. that is why nobody measures strength of schedule that way if you were wondering.

Tulane is better than FSU, gumps flipping OOC with Ole Miss would not change anything
Northwestern is 5-2 on the season. One of their losses to Tulane and the other is to Oregon. Should they print the t shirts in Chicago yet?

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics

To show how difficult it is to win on the road in the SEC…
SEC home teams are 18-10 so far this season in conference games. Of the 10x an SEC team has lost a conference game at home…
4x the game went into OT
3x the game was decided by just 3 points
1x the game was decided by just 7 points
There have only been two lopsided games this season in which the home team lost, and both were at South Carolina.
There absolutely should not have been instances of some teams starting the season out with two SEC road games while others had the luxury of starting with two SEC home games. That’s just a massive, massive difference.

No it isn't.
What a compelling argument. Show me the stats that show winning on the road in the SEC is easy.

Tennessee- #40 (Arkansas)

There is really nothing to explain. Everybody plays the same number of home and away games. Everybody has to play a couple on the road in a row at times. It's really not much more complicated than that. There is nothing unfair about this. It has always been this way in every sport and always will be.
Auburn has only played the 4th hardest schedule in the conference so far, an objectively middle of the road schedule by this conference's standards.
Auburn has been treated fairly. The world is not out to get them. They are simply not a good football team.

This is a really stupid way of measuring SOS, but I agree with the thread title.
Look at Alabama's schedule compared to Ohio State. fricking insane
