I forgot to add Dothan, Alabama. That is one shitty hole
Dothan is not even close to being in this conversation
Just take hwy 80 from Montgomery to demopolis and pick every town between the two

Congrats on the new athletic build.
You're right. Starkville is sooooo much better.

Eh, I've lived in both states.
Each have their pros and cons but neither is dramatically better than the other.

Dude, you can find that view in any city in America.

unimpressed. I live a bit outside of st. louis, and you could have found far worse pics even just driving in the highway downtown, or on your way to crossing a bridge to illinois.

Been to St Louis once. Was not impressed.
It's designed that way. All of Missouri is. Terrible place, and you shouldn't move or visit there. About 80% of people already there should move out. Don't worry. I'll stay and turn out the lights after everyone else leaves.

I was coming to say it looks like somewhere between Jefferson and Compton, south of 40.
I happen to be working a summer temp job at the Sigma site not too far from there the day of the Praxair explosion. Thought it was an earthquake.

I'm not here to defend OP, but in all seriousness East St Louis is absolutely the worst fricking place I've ever been in the US. I was honestly shocked and appalled that that kind of poverty and neglect existed in this country. Only went there on a trip to visit friends parents in St Charles and apparently all of the titty bars are in EStL. We were in our early 20s and had no idea we had no business going over there at 11pm drunk looking for action.
Don't remember the name of the titty bar but I remember the slogan "Where the East meets the West, home of the best!"

You're right, but completely different state so I don't think you can hold that against STL.

There isn't one measurable statistic to back up that statement.

I’m just glad Fayetteville keeps being ranked Top 5 in the country and best in the SEC.
The rest of these places look like third world countries.

add Cairo, IL
that place was scary as hell to drive thru
looked like a ghost town with a few people left behind to kill/eat people that drive thru.

I agree. STL does have some urban blight. But they have some good music, and you can't have one without the other.
I've been going to the St. Louis metro area for 40 years. The city may be bad; the County and surrounding towns are much nicer. I only go to the city for Cardinal games & to Laclede's landing near the river. Cardinal fans are some of the best fans in sports. Any sport.
Mostly stay out west. Forest Park is as nice a park as any place I've been. One of the premier zoo's in the country.
Clayton, Ladue, Creve Coeur etc. are much nicer than the suburburn towns around most major cities.
