The HOF has lost a lot of my respect by keeping Curt Schilling out. His bloody sock game was the most iconic pitching performance of the last 20 years

The baseball HOF is a joke now. The selection methodology is dumb, and far too much politics involved.

Albert Belle would probably be in if he wasn't such an a-hole

His run from 1992-1999 was arguably the best of any hitter in baseball during that time period.

His 162 gm averages were

.302/.382/.587

40 HRs, 39 2Bs, 125 RBIs

He got absolutely jobbed for the MVP in 1995 for Mo Vaughn simply because he did everything possible to make the media hate him. Had a great argument for MVP in 1996 too but finished 3rd.

Rafael Palmeiro should be but the juice kept him out.

Has Raffy retired yet? He has remained in North Texas and was playing for the Cleburne Railroaders until a few years ago in his mid-50s.

Joe Adcock played for LSU and then the Braves.

Joe Adcock isn't in the HOF either. Good career, though

Ehhh. I heard this played out on the radio about a year or two ago when Harold Baines got in the HOF (barely). Forgot who was saying it but they pointed out Albert Belle's WAR was a maybe a point higher than Baines (looked it up 40.1 vs 38.8). They said there was only 1 or 2 non closers that played post WW2 that made it in the HOF with a sub 40 WAR and Belle is right there. Great player but was a longshot even if he were not personality challenged.
