How about we are looking forward to playing in the best conference in the country. As a Texas fan I can't wait to be able to play teams like OM, Tenn, Fla, Auburn etc over the current conference games we play against TT, TCU, Baylor, UH, W. V. etc

I don't think anyone from Texas is saying UT is going to run the SEC. Quality wise it is a step up. But it is not miles ahead of every conference like so many try to claim.

Aren't their 6 top ranked teams in final standings?

There should only justifiably be 5. Tennessee had 0 quality wins and a ugly loss to a bad Florida team.

The fact that more schools have had title seasons means Texas, OU are less likely to have title seasons?

Texas/OU will be facing up to 6 teams/season capable of having a title season, whereas they've been accustomed to only having to face 1 team with that capability. i.e. the competition level is a good bit tougher in the SEC.

We've been waiting for Florida since Urban left, but it is interesting how you bring up Texas's last 15 years to discredit UT but then talk about Florida coming back ( who has also only had a handful of 10 win seasons in the last 15 years)

They have a quality win (OU).

How is LSU ranked 13th when their defense is so bad you could drive a mega load through its holes?

Looks like A&M is just as bad as they were in the Big 12.

The B1G is the league where the difference in athlete at the top vs the bottom is such a drastic difference. Playing Purdue, Minnesota and Northwestern is not in the same realm as playing South Carolina, Florida and Mississippi State.

100% this.

Big 12 has some pesky teams that will beat you any given day.

B1G has a ton of Vanderbilt's in it, and that is no disrespect to Vandy as an institution but just a comentary on their football clout.

2 terrible losses cancel out the quality win.

LSU lost to 3 top ten teams

The only teams I have consistently had zero worry about are Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The rest it didn’t matter what their record was. There was always a bit of worry of varying degrees.

Can Texas and OU honestly say that?

Yes, you thick headed dumbfrick. That's college football, not just the SEC.

Oh sweet summer child.

The SEC has better coaches, players, fans, the whole deal than anything the lesser conferences have to offer. It’s one thing to get up for the odd bigger game but the grind week in and week out plays havoc on a roster.

Texas has the ones to play with anyone this year but how good is their 6th CB? Or 5th ILB? Or 6th and 7th Dline guy? Is your 3rd string C a liability?

That’s the difference between the SEC and the rest. The SEC will actually test your depth. Programs that can trot out that 3rd string C and see him preform at a high level against 1s and 2s that are going to play in the league are the programs that win consistently in the SEC. Hell UGA has made out rostering programs a real thing.

My first thought is LSU having to survive the Floridas and Auburns just to get to the Bama game with a shot at the West. Then you lose a heartbreaker and the next week you have to go to Fayetteville where it's 29° and Bert is wearing a 4XL starter jacket and has like 5 TEs and 3 FBs on the field all game.

fricking spot on

Their toughest road games this season were Houston and TCU, they were also taken to overtime by Kansas State.

So Houston and TCU are tougher road environments than Tuscaloosa?

Also, taken to overtime by a ranked team while playing with a backup QB and still winning is supposed to be some kind of burn?

LOL, another middle of the pack SEC team fan dick riding Alabama/Georgia.

In 2013 the SEC East went 4-1 in bowl games, in 2014 the SEC East went 6-0 in bowl games. If the East was so down, why didn't SC, FL, Tn, or KY take it. Your narrative is getting old.

The Big 12 is a basketball conference that happens to also play football.

College Football Playoff Rankings Top 25: Final

13 LSU Tigers 9-3
11 Ole Miss Rebels 10-2
9 Missouri Tigers 10-2
6 Georgia Bulldogs 12-1
4 Alabama Crimson Tide 12-1

Down?

Tenner ranked is laughable. Play 9 conference games, which adds another loss to half the league, and then see where the ranked teams are. I mean, just wonder how every year the SEC ends up with so many teams ranked:

Teams playing at least 10 Power 5 opponents in 2023:

Big Ten 13 of 14
Big 12: 11 of 14
Pac-12: 10 of 12
ACC: 10 of 15
SEC: 2 of 14

Lol taking the one loss and several teams that are lower barrel while completely ignoring other wins doesn't make your point. It just makes you look like a dumbass

Isn't ole miss in a NY6 bowl this year with their best win being Tulane?

Check out this gauntlet by the way:

Alabama:
Texas LOSS
@USF won by 14
Arkansas won by 3
Auburn won by 3
@Texas A&M won by 6

See? I can do it too
