technically speaking, can Mizzou win the East this year? Will the probation prevent it?

The SEC Championship isn't a bowl game.

is that a yes? I am not familiar with the terms of the probation. If we aren't going to win it, would like to see it go to Mizzou.

It's a postseason ban, not a bowl ban. That being said, we are eligible as long as the appeal is pending. That also being said, we can win the east while ineligible for the postseason, we just wouldn't get to play in the championship game.

Who knew the South Carolina vs Missouri game in week 4 would decide the East?

East is down. Mizzou doesn’t belong. Michael Sam. Big XII.

Did I miss anything?

Pretty sure, given what BHam did to UF in 90 or 91, that the SEC home office controlled by the REC will not allow Mizzou into Atlanta unless it benefits Bama somehow. And it might but it's a double edged sword.

Mizzou would be the easiest opponent Bama could hope to face in Atlanta but the optics would be bad in the eyes of the national media.

Also, and this could very likely happen, LSU could win the West (I think they will) and BHam then would weigh how a Mizzou matchup would affect the optics as well ... even if LSU mudholed Mizzou. The REC will not do anything to help LSU as far as potential seeding is concerned.

Secondly, Mizzou is still likely to lose to UGA and Florida imho, which makes all of this a mute point.

Yeah, you forgot to call us a bunch of yankee SJW's even though Missouri goes more red than several SEC states.

Florida? Like Florida Florida? Barry owns that team. Not saying their not good, but until they can prove to even show up against odoms teams I’m not buying it

Stick around long enough in this league ... you'll see some crazy stuff.

This is our 28th year but we started following the SEC closely in 90 when the whispers of expansion started and we started lobbying for one of the two spots.

SPURrier's first year at Florida they were denied the conference championship ... BHam piled on and set precedent. That was a helluva team too.

BHam piled on Ole Miss as well.

Do not be surprised if BHam decides to make a further example of Mizzou. Matter of fact I fully expect them to do just that because it's how they operate.

Only other time I have ever seen it happen in any other conference was way back in the ACC when the ACC pulled some dirty shite against SC and later they did something very similar to Clemson. They let UNC and Duke (Tobacco Road Cabal) on heinous shite but they mudholed SC and Clemson. Once SC left the conference they admitted their bullshite and changed the rules. With Clemson, and I am sure one of the sheep humping sister bangers will come in and correct me but, I think I remember the ACC tacking on an extra year of probation above and beyond what the NCAA had handed down.
