I'm genuinely curious what the real issue is then. Is it the amount of money? The fact that some boosters cant/wont cough up enough money to be competitive on the open market for star players? Is it that players will leave for a better opportunity or higher pay after the season ends (much like a real job market)?

This is dumb.

Congratulations message board genius. This is four in five days now. I don’t know what’s happening.

This board wants to see him fail so bad it hurts.
Not sure why to be honest.

I refuse to believe this.
It isn't about the money or the amount of money. It's about the wild west open market that allows players to leave year to year (or before even joining the university!) to follow the highest bidder.
If we had a contract/salary system (still free market), we wouldn't have this problem.

Yeah, you threatened me with your last alt. Let me guess, you wanna fight me in the parking lot across from the stadium. That’s what you said last time. Get new material.

NIL, the free market and capitalism are considered to be the worst things in the history of college football. So, now we have a guy like Arch, who doesn't want to profit in any way from NCAA 25 (or NIL in general) until he is a starter and has earned it, and for some reason this upsets all of you. I would call you hypocrites, but outside of the graduates of Vandy, UF and Texas, I know that many syllables is a tough go for most of you.
Maybe you should have read about the conference profit sharing. We have never hidden our communism. In fact helping the smaller schools is part of how the SEC became so strong.
That said, support or dissent regarding NIL has frick all to do with communism or capitalism.

Let me explain why you don’t understand what you’re talking about.
The free market works when competition breeds innovation and better products/services. The problem with the free market in sports is that competition literally is the product.
If Apple destroys their competition consistently with awesome products, they make a lot of money and sell a lot of products. The product grows, company grows, and customer base grows. (There are still arguments against monopolies and anti-trust considerations, but that’s not the point here).
If a team is allowed to dominate their competition consistently, the team/sport lose viewers and lose a ton of money. The product is diminished because the product isn’t owned by 1 team. The product requires multiple teams being able to have a chance to win or it implodes on itself. Equal competition in sports means more viewers and better product. Even in years where there was a sports dynasty, it was typically short lived and other teams were still competitive in games throughout the season/postseason (e.g. Bama only won 6/17 championships under Saban).

You fundamentally misunderstand the problems people have with NIL. It's not that college players are getting paid.

This is an embarrassing look for Texas but what’s new.
Can’t wait to hear the reasoning behind this
