I’ve never seen anything like this. A Governor who installs puppets on the Board of Trustees, controls the Presidency of LSU, and the AD office. Lane Kiffin reports to Governor Landry. Then you have banana republic courts going to bat for Kiffin and LSU’s football program. It’s just all so shady and surely fertile ground for all sorts of massive corruption and scandal.

That $100 million dollar “investment” opportunity Landry schemed up sounded like part private equity, part ponzi scheme.
Someone would have gotten rich from it, even if LSU lost their arse. I imagine the LLC set up to manage it would have some positions with hefty salaries and a very lucrative bonus system.

The state literally has nothing else, its lifeblood is LSU football being a mid to upper tier SEC team. Why do you think those retards are the only school that obsesses over college baseball?

Always hear from Louisianians that the problem with the state, in general, is the crooked politicians. They bring in a shady coach like kiffin and then push the envelope farther than they should.
Now when they get slapped back as a reasonable response to the shenanigans, do the people of Louisiana say cut the crap?
The answer is no, they circle the wagons and defend the scheme.
I don't ever want to hear anyone from Louisiana complain about the problems within the state!

We have a ton of baseball fans and usually good baseball in this state. We don’t have a major or minor league team, so LSU is our baseball team.

Anyone who has been paying attention has seen Landry has put all his folks in charge at LSU and purge anything remotely "woke" whatever that even means anymore. He pushed hard to bring in Kiffin.
Landry recently cited Governor McKeithen as his inspiration for hosting recruits at the Governor's Mansion.
This is a long tradition. I may not like the way Landry does it (especially bullshite like that stunt with Omar the Tiger) but it is completely normal for Louisiana politicians, especially the governor, to have their hands in everything and anything at LSU -- especially the football team.
LSU and politics are completely inseparable. Water is wet.
