4 teams, use BCS formula. That is the only answer. Anything else is communist.

The current system would be perfect with two tweaks:

1) Conference Championship games are eliminated to avoid schools playing each other 3 times in a season. Regular season champs get the auto-bid with elimination of Championship game. It would also eliminate the possibility of an undeserving school backdooring into the playoff (LSU this year, though I would love it as an LSU fan).

2) Rounds 1 and 2 are played on college campuses and the final 4 is same as previous iteration of playoff. It sucks that the schools with a bye don't get to play a playoff game in front of their home fans.

Or the SEC could just add 2 more regular season conference games instead of the 2 bullshite cupcake games and the regular season champion gets the auto-bid to the playoff.

This is the way forward. Plus moving to 9 makes no sense at all. Half the conference will get 4 conference home games and the other half will get 5. Either way, ditch the SEC CG. It's become a burden.

Auto bids for conference Champs is OK, but they shouldn't get auto byes. That is what is screwing things up.
