every OOC SEC win helps every team in the conference (who'll be in contention for anything)

The perception of the conference being so strong is because of big games just like this...

dont root for them, but your logic is fricking flawed.

I still don't understand why every Auburn fan on here feels the need to convince us all to pull for AU. Who gives a rip if people aren't cheering for your team? It won't affect the outcome of the game. Lord knows there weren't a lot of AU people pulling for Bama this time last year.

For the record I'm just pulling for a good game, completely indifferent.

I am curious if those of you who are on PAC 10 boards seeing something similar in support of Oregon? Is this becoming a conference battle (PAC 10 vs SEC)? Or is it the AU/SEC (to a certain extent) against OU?

Auburn represents what is wrong with college athletics. If you root for Auburn you are indirectly supporting a bunch of classless, law breaking, "yeah we did it, but prove it", jokes. Auburn doesn't deserve to be in the position they're in. They paid a player to achieve their"success".

SEC or not I hope they get what is coming to them. People in the SEC should be hoping they get their arse kicked. Auburn is a disgrace to the SEC.

Oh, to the Auburn fans that this will piss off...
Most people don't dislike Auburn because of their "success" (which Auburn faithful want to believe) Most people won't wish them success because they're dishonest posers.

this has got to be one of the most idiotic posts ive seen on here.

consider this:

an undefeated SEC champ, Big 10 Champ, PAC 10 Champ and ACC Champ are your top 4.

Who's automatically in the BCS title game? The SEC Champ.

...and its because of that big "Team SEC circle-jerk" perception that we're the best.

gtfo

Then this must be the most idiotic post on the most idiotic thread the congrats you're the king of kings. As other posters said who we pull for doesn't affect the outcome of the game. If a team is good enough to make it's way to the top and get considered for a title game bid, then destiny will manifest itself and things will work themselves out. We're not the fricking mountain west conference for frick's sake, newsflash the SEC is NOT the end-all, be-all of college football no matter how much people on this board want it to be. It may have been clear and shining the strongest in recent years and that's fine and dandy, but times change it may not always be the best and it sure it shite hasn't always been the best, college football is about the teams that make it up no the conferences, that's where the tradition lies. The folks of the SEC bitch and whine how they're the best and it only makes them look like bigger inbreds and idiots when it blows up in their faces (see the sugar bowl). If you wanna root for Auburn because you like them, or kinda like them or just hate Oregon, then so be it; but I urge you to reevaluate your reasons for pulling for another team if they're based solely on conference loyalty. Why can't just be like the Big-10 or Pac-10 (not looking for any smart redneck comments here)and pull for whoever we want to post-season. To all you Alabama fans who claim your rivalry with Auburn is the greatest in all of college football you sure as shite better not be pulling for them tonight, you sure as shite wouldn't catch a Michigan fan pulling for Ohio State against Arkansas, WHY?! cuz that's a true rivalry, pure unadulterated hatred. Rant on, Flame on , the end.

-purpgold718 (in the name of my university NOT conference) OUT!

ETA: the whole logic thing is bullshite, perception this, perception that if the SEC teams really are the best year in and year out, they'll ascend the rankings, get the chance for consideration and if it is granted they'll handle their business if not another team will the end. You don't see the Big-10 griping about this shite, Ohio State comes from the shittiest major post-season conference this year and they still handled the "second-best" SEC team, they did what they had to they took care of business and didn't have to hide behind the strenght or perceived/inflated strenght of their conference.

Your not understanding the argument. They are saying it is for conference pride. That is bullshite. Read some of the smarter posters reasons why every SEC win is good for the conference.

BTW I rooted for Texas to lose, not for Bama to win.

This. Also, every school in the SEC shares in the money when/if Auburn wins the BCS title.

hmmmm...why do they get the consideration and ascend the rankings, maybe b/c of the PERCEPTION that the SEC is the best. b/c isn't that what people vote off of, perception? seems like you don't even understand your own rant.

I think its neutral. Pac 10 fans dont usually root for each other. A lof of the fanbases hate oregon and are pulling for Auburn. There are those that want auburn to win thou to help the conference get some respect. I personally could care less, i just want to see a great game.
