Their mediocre mess of a back-up begs to differ. I've seen him in garbage time in a few games this season. That's a 3 loss team there with him starting.
Honestly, there's only been a few top SEC teams recently that won regardless of their quarterback (or even in spite of him.) LSU has won in spite of their quarterbacks a lot of the time. Ditto Florida post-Tebow. But most of the top teams have needed top quality in the qb position. Bama needs McCarron. They could replace him with Murray or, with considerably less surety, Mett or Shaw, and keep winning. But nobody else except Manziel, and Manziel doesn't fit into their system. They certainly couldn't replace him with Bo Wallace or Brandon Allen or whoever the hell is running things at Mississippi State and still be unbeaten or defending national champions. This isn't intended as an insult, but, frankly, people who don't think McCarron is a helluva quarterback either haven't actually watched him or don't understand football. I have my doubts about him succeeding in the NFL, but in college, he's one of the half-dozen or so I'd love to have leading my team.
Sims isn't much if all a QB. After signed AJ we signed the other Sims who was a black guy as well but a Pocket Passer (most considered him the top guy but in a weak QB class) who left once AJ won the job. Other than that we swung and missed on QBs for a few cycles. We landed a good one who is now redshirting but he talks like a girl. That is why we are looking for the Coker kid at FSU to transfer and with the rules be able to play immediately. Ironically he also replaced AJ after AJ graduated in High School at St. Pauls.

Man McCarron really makes you lose sleep. As far as I am concerned McCarron is still throwing Smash to Kevin Norwood over the top of the Honey Badger and Chavis hasn't switched out of that D yet.
Yeah. Those 4 catches for zero tds really proves TM was shite.

Only if you were an idiot. If you are starting a team and are running anything resembles the Power/Pass offense like ours who else would you want? Peyton Manning and Matt Stafford would be better choices but that is about it. But there is no one in the SEC right now I would want.
Holy shite.
Ok. Just in the last 4 years

That's from 08 on. AJ is not great. He plays on great teams.

No it's not. They are talking about titles. That's a team stat.

And I bet Greg Mac's winning percentage is in the top 10
According to the graphic in the OP, the QBs had to have a minimum of 30 starts to be considered for the list.
GMac only started 27 games for Alabama.

AJ has never been the best qb in his own conf.

I said running the offense Alabama runs. You guys now add deliberately insane responses to keep from praising AJ.

Don't disagree. But what he has been is surrounded by great players that don't allow him to have to win games and put up gaudy stats. If the guy walks away with three rings as a starter he will go down as a great QB. No need to debate that.

You would be insane to say right now he isn't playing the best of any SEC QB this season. Especially since the other candidates - Manziel Mettenberger, and Murray have all thrown key picks that have sealed away a loss. It seems losing your team the game is now not even a QB's fault. After all the most important tool of a QB is their mind. And that includes having the judgement of when not to throw a ball does it not?

"Just win baby."

That's what matters at the end of the day.

While that is ultimately what matters it seems despite the fact Manziel is running a Spread offense we seem to pretend he and McCarron are putting numbers up in the same offense. Despite having to compensate for his mobility he has thrown 8 picks just 8 games into the season.
Heck people try to insult AJ by saying he is "just a game manager" but I have to ask why as a defending Heisman winner why isn't Manziel managing the game better? It seems QB's mistakes aren't held against them anymore/QB's don't get credit for not making them.

Is a cat fan really talking about football right now?
When you can win more than 7 games in a season, maybe I'll acknowledge your post and debate. Until that happens, keep hoping you'll do something that you haven't done in 30 years, win 9 games.

Is kinda funny seeing a cat talk smack to a tiger.

Someone needs to cut the Kentucky guy down. When it comes to football someone needs to tell him, "Hush child, adults are talking".

He is 3rd in the sec in qb rating. Facts. I know facts mean nothing to gump bias.

Here's a little gump bias... he's the only undefeated QB in the SEC as well. Enjoy.
