Not one bit, but he should be forced to pay any and all money that he may have, on top of basic living expenses or until reimbursed. And that does not count tickets to the bama ole miss game.
I agree - but IMO, it'll be the taxpayers of Alabama that will be paying Harvey's living expenses for quite some time.
When he gets sent to the state mental hospital even you Aubs will be paying for his three squares a day + a bed. Oh, and lets not forget his doctor bills that will mount up for the mental therapy that the judge will deem necessary for such an insane person.

Just ban him from ever stepping foot in the state again.

You have to make a statement, you have to set an example... If you do not, then what will stop the NEXT Alabama or Auburn Nutcase? Someone has to go to jail.
Where do you draw the line. Updyke did not just kill some trees in someone's yard. He tried to strike a blow against Auburn, he wanted to be a HERO..
To replace the trees will cost and has cost a LOT of money. There are pranks which do NOT permanently cause damage (Taping a Cam Tshirt on Bear, TP some trees, etc.), but what he did was a FELONY crime.
All crimes/pranks are not equal.

Ty for clarifying that. The 4 or 5 state felony indictments and 4 or 5 federal indictments didn't seem that serious at first.

where was that catfish place yall were eating at? Sounds good.
Pretty sure they were at Middendorf's. And you have no idea. The thin fried catfish is delicious.
Back on point:

The other liberal 'Bama pansies that donated to the cause... they spent more time in the library then they did rooting for the Tide.
Stupid college kids, always in the library reading and shite.

It's a conspiracy Hunter. You should know this by now

But a conspiracy by who, against whom?

Motivation shouldn't matter. It requires subjective views on the motive. You should be punished for the laws you break, not why you break them.
I have no idea what precedent is for premeditated herbicide, but he should get that, no more no less. "Making an example" of someone subverts the very basis for our justice system.

The guy is that obsessed with bama and didn't go to a game until 2009? Born in florida and moved to texas and only became a fan because of bear bryant when they were good?

Harvey Updyke is insane ~ do you think otherwise?
He even stated that he wants to end his life. Sounds insane to me.
He will go to the nuthouse where the taxpayers of Alabama will subsidize his lunacy. He'll get three meals a day, a bed and some of the best mental therapy that the State can afford to give him. All paid for by good, hard-workin folks like you and me.

The writer seemed to think so...
After all, he'd struck a blow against the enemy. He was surprised to find the opposite was true, with Tide for Toomer's raising money on Facebook, with former Alabama players calling him horrible names, with Saban writing a check to help try to save the trees.
