I agree and think Alabama doesn't cover. It ain't a knock on Bama, they're good, maybe the best team in the country. I'd pick them that way right now, but Florida has so much team speed. They're built to stop the run and they have a good secondary. The offense, sure, but they really have a lot of speed and could pose problems. Plus, it's their super bowl. I just don't think Bama covers 17 or whatever it is.

IF, and I mean a big IF; IF Florida does indeed defeat Alabama for the SEC title, would it be the biggest upset the championship game era since 1992?

I think UF's offense is the reason people aren't giving them a chance, but most Bama fans are expecting a hard fought low scoring game. I think we'll be holding on to a 10-13 point lead most of the game. If UF's ST or D steals a TD this game could get interesting.

I was on the field in 92 for that game. It actually started spitting snow in the waning minutes there at Legion Field. That was a great game. Much respect back in the day between both of the schools - and even the fans at the time- so they both knew either one of them could win that classic. With the point spread to this one, surely it would be up there with any as the biggest upset.

Like you said, that's a big if though.

The 1992 UF team was not that good...this was the year Spurrier had lost all the talent he inherited in 1990 an his first recruiting class was sub par. We got our bell rung by UT and Moo State in our first two SEC games...we were starting two true frosh OTs and a bunch of sophs on our team. QB Shane Matthews was running for his life early...but Spurrier got everything turned around and lo and behold UT dropped three SEC games which allowed us into the SECCG...we beat UGA on Halloween when they were healthy favorites btw.

The first two games were held in B;Ham and that was an advantage for Bama of course. We lost in 1992 cause we didnt have good run game and defense was average.

Talking heads on ESPN have debating what would happen if UF upset Bama and its split down the middle whether UF would play in the CFP....but there is a chance it could happen if the unthinkable occurred. Ohio State would be the team we'd have to past by. A few upsets and who knows? But I cant see us beating Bama unless we put a secret weapon like Jacob Guy (walk on)in as QB.

Probably. L5U's upset of #2 Tennessee was pretty big in 2001. Dubose beating Spurrier in 1999 is also up there.

Here's my take on it. UF played Bama at BDS last year and lost 42-21. The game was 21-14 at halftime and 21-21 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd.

This was in Tuscaloosa. Both teams are pretty much the same as last year to me.

Derrick Henryis still at Bama...he had 20 for 111 last year.
Bama rotates more DL this year (probably biggest difference from a year ago).

Amari Cooper had 10 catches for 201. Ridley will have a good game but I doubt he goes for 200 yards.

Sims is/was better than Coker. He threw for 445 and 4TDs.

UF defense is about the same, more experienced than last year although dealing with injuries.

A lot of talk about Treon but Driskel was abysmal in this game last year at BDS. The game was 21-21 despite Driskel finishing 9 for 28 for 93 yards. 2 picks and 1 TD.

Call me crazy but I think Treon can complete 9 out of 28 passes for 93 yards versus Bama. The point is, while we will likely lose the game. Bama is not much different than the Bama this same exact team saw last year.

I think it will be similar to Auburn game. We hang around and then Bama takes over late

The level of disrespect for Florida going into the SECCG is absurd

Hey, we have earned all the disrespect we are being given. Move along, there is nothing to see here. Bama just needs to get ready for the playoff game. Rest Henry and some other starters.

I think they are being disrespected because their offense is atrocious. Treon Harris is not the QB of the future for UF.

However, I do think that there is an entire different narrative to this game if Will Grier is playing.
