Au fans = Bo was the greatest ever.. because!!!!!
No other reason. Not because his stats bear it out. Not because he leads in multiple categories in his position, not because he led his team to Championships, not because he led his team to 4 losses his Heisman year. Just... because.
so I saw no one ever replied to this....is it because he was spot on? OR WAIT HES A TROLL BLABLAHBLAH RAWRWRWR ETC rite?

William Andrews only played in 22 games at Auburn, but was a he'll of a pro.

I spent months arguing Ingram vs. Jackson with that dude. Safe to say I've got better things to do than go down that road again.
ETA: Not to mention the oh so fun Denard Robinson > Cam Newton argument.

Are you serious? Stats? This isn't Fantasy Land. RB's in their Prime - I get first pick - I'll take Bo Jackson - you take Mark Ingram.
Check RB 09 stats - we should be comparing Bo with Toby Gerhert; kind of like Joe Dudeck -

It's because B-B-Bo kn-kn-knows artificial hips.

Irrelevant. If Bo got the +50 carries Gerhert had at 6.6 YPC Bo would have had 2116yds....
Also the PAC10 had the worst total defense of any BCS conference that year. In 85' the SEC ranked number 1 in every defensive category.

There has been arguably ONE better RB.... ONE.
And (again) that is arguable.
I have never seen a better football player than Bo Jackson.

Dmac had two other NFL backs softening up defenses for him.
Although we did have two other backs, that didn't soften the defense. How would it haha? We had the worst passing game in the entire SEC and bottom 20% in the country. 8+ in the box and still couldn't stop him.
No arguing who is better anyway. 2 different styles. DMac is easily a top 3 and Walker is #1. Whoever you want to put at #2 is all good with me.

It threads like this that make this place suck sometimes.. I keep reading in this thread about all the SEC backs that were much better than Bo. So name them. Who are these backs not named Herschel that were better than Bo?

e got the Heisman as a career award. Didn't deserve it the year he got it.
And you are saying he didn't deserve it. . .
BTW, he ended his career with 6.6 ypc.

Bo and Herschel were before I started paying attention, so they are folklore status to me...Paul Bunyonesque if you will. As far as the top 3 that I've watched,it goes:
Cadillac
Rudi
Ronnie B
Cadillac was a highlight reel anytime he touched the ball, but Rudi was a man amongst boys. If I was a defensive player, I would have been scared shitless to see him bust through a hole and headed downhill towards me. I just wish Auburn had him for four years...he could have shattered records.
Of those that I watched personally, I'd go:
Bo
Fullwood
James Brooks
Caddy
Stephen Davis
Rudi
Bostic
Ronnie Brown
It's amusing to read under 30 folks try and act like they know a damn thing about Bo though. Bo and Hershel are the best two backs to come through the SEC in my lifetime and it's not really even close. Who you choose between those two depends on whether you go for quantity versus quality really. Walker was more of a workhorse, where Bo had to share all the carries but was more explosive. The thing with Bo is that he was so insanely talented (linebacker body and track star speed) that he never had to learn how to be a good running back. Because of that I'd say Barry Sanders and Walker were better running backs from a technique standpoint, but Bo's ridiculous athletic skill put him on the same level as them. It would have been interesting to see just how good he could have been if he had gone football full time in the pros and had not gotten injured.
