As long as the checks keep coming and those opposing SEC fans keep buying tickets why do we care? We have a schedule we look forward to watching every year
Good grief, what a L-O-S-E-R. You're little more than a prostitute who wants thanks along with the cash.

No, I am pretty sure we won conference realignment. Hence the fact we have a good reason to be on this board, and you (and the Sooner) don't.

If "winning" conference realignment means suckling at the teat of other teams while prostituting yourself out for cash, then I guess you "won."
Here's what I don't get. You are still measuring yourself against Texas while you are staring yet another bottom-tier SEC football finish right in the face. That's messed up, man.

To reply now in a less snarky tone, our SEC move was a deal that could have worked out for everyone. The Big 12 wasn't really helped by us, as we were already a part of the small footprint for that conference. UT couldn't really help the SEC enter the Texas market, as they had too much baggage/demands. We provided the exact metrics the SEC needed, but the Big 12 didn't need. In return for us leaving the Big 12 had a chance to expand its market and end up better off.
The Big 12 fricked up that chance adding TCU, but that isn't our fault. When we originally made the move everyone had a chance to benefit, including us.

That is because Texas is a "can't get to a bowl" bottom feeder themselves right now. You obviously spend too much time over here to pay attention to reality.

The MLB playoffs? You mean the ones that aren't on Fox until the ALCS and NLCS a week after the RRS? The ones that are on TBS for the first round?

Reality is that this realignment saga was supposed to be a chance for the "sleeping giant" (which is bullshite) of A&M football to reawaken.
That was the narrative.
But you suck just as hard as you did in the SWC and Big 12 and things are falling apart. You had nearly 7,000 season ticket nonrenewals this season. The aggy cult is jumping ship like rats.
I guess I'd point to someone else when you fricked up such a golden opportunity. So aggy-like.

That is the reality. We have spent half a billion on facilities, we have the biggest stadium in Texas, and we now make WAY more money than we ever could in the Big 12. We are as relevant as we have been in like 90 years. That is as awake as we can get.

We clearly said it was a "hundred year decision," ie the best thing for us longterm. Any sort of short term results don't matter in that perspective.

I guess we were just trying to be like big bro on that point eh?

That isn't even close to the truth. The SEC move energized our fanbase like nothing else ever has. Maybe right now some are unhappy with the exact situation the football program is in at this moment, but overall we are more committed than we have ever been.
I mean, even 7000 less tickets is still like 10,000 more season tickets than we ever sold in the Big 12. It's all relative.

And FYI your sig makes you look like a hypocrite on that subject if that is your opinion.
Fair point, and I realized that as I wrote the post. The difference is that my sig is just pointing out the dollars we bring to a table that already existed. It does not say that the table would not exist without us.
Anyway, you may well be right in all you say. Let's save our gunpowder for the whorns and (when they deserve it) dirt burglars that stink up this board.

Why are Aggies feeding this Texas Troll?

Once in a blue moon he makes a good point. Not today obviously, but I have seen it.

I asked this 10 pages ago and it got lost in the shuffle.
I thought Oklahoma would never leave Okie State?

You know how we all schedule those late season cupcakes to work out kinks in the gameplan, knowing there is no challenge in it but enjoying the scoring anyway?
It's kind of like that.

That isn't codified into law or anything. It is just an assumption because the two schools share some of the same mega boosters. Plus there is a notion that as long as T Boone is alive he alone has the political muscle in the state to really punish an OU that leaves his OSU to rot.
I think a bigger problem for OU leaving unilaterally is a program like Baylor that knows that without the Big 12 they aren't eating at the big boy table. They have nothing to lose and a huge stadium bank note to pay (without the Briles money making machine anymore), so when a legal battle comes they will throw everything they have at whoever makes the first move to end the Big 12 to make them pay dearly.

I understand but the troll won't go away as long as it is being fed. Just like a stray cat. As long as it gets what it wants, it will stick around. Leave the little troll alone. He has to go back to his POS conference boards at some point.
