So Ole Miss has never played a team from the current PAC12, hasn't played a B1G team since Herbert Hoover was president, played a down TEXAS team last year, and played the ACC historical equivalent to UK and Vandy 6 years ago......................................................................................

I think Wake won the ACC that year.

I gotcha. None of those temas were in the Big 12 at the time of kick off...mainly bec there was no Big 12. They should have added all the other conferences from the beginning of time to be accurate.

My point.

If going back all through time, a table like in the OP can't limit the conferences to only 4.

Just 23 football seasons ago, the SEC, SWC, ACC, Big East, PAC 10, Big 8, ACC were all considered the power brokers of college football.

All have national titles post 1960. All conferences had "power players" in their leagues.

Has Arkansas ever played a regular season game where at kickoff the team they were playing was in the ACC, regardless of what conference Arkansas was in at the time of kickoff?
I believe the correct answer would be, I don't know and don't care. Kind of a meaningless thing.

So if a team scheduled Indiana that would elevate their status in your evaluation, but scheduling Notre Dame would not?

I just wish all major teams would quit scheduling the true cupcakes.

Not to mention I posted this to watch LSU and Bama bicker

Instead, the Arkies did what they always do, open a thread and take a big shite on it

No. Are Arkansas fans the only ones who completely missed the point of the thread?

We have to schedule teams from the major conferences starting next season. I am in hopes that we will schedule our first B1G team since before the SEC was formed.

Another interesting stat would be the total number of games against each conference.

I just pulled the numbers from cfbdatawarehouse.com. Numbers are based against teams' current conference affiliation (Arkansas playing Miami counts in the 80's counts towards Arkansas's ACC totals).

ETA: Added "Total Games" column.

Alabama's VT entry should say 2013 instead of 2014, a minor mistake but it would add 1 more "year"

Anybody surprised at Florida's abysmal record of playing OOC games?

No?

Me either.

What did you think ours was going to look like, 2 of our biggest rivals are in the same conference. It has nothing to do with relative strength of one's OOC schedule.

I guarantee we have played more regular season games against power conference teams over the past 25 years than LSU and pretty much every other SEC school not named UGA.

Not surprised to see LSU with the best spread.

I envy their and UT's OOC scheduling tendencies.

I'm a lot more happy with LSU's results in OOC scheduling.

LSU still has the longest OOC regular season winning streak in the country. And we absolutely own the PAC schools in all of their incarnations, to the tune of 22-4 all-time.

What about us playing GT in the 50s, then?

For whatever reason, while in the SWC, we played more PAC, big8, and SEC teams than ACC and B1G.

Is almost like its a geography thing.
