The entire program cracked under the pressure
Purely evident in the pre game over confident presser, coastal coaching staff complete meltdown and the ACE pitcher folding like a cheap lawn chair.
I heard a summary that stated the Friday night starter was moved to Saturday, and while he is good, the Friday starter doesn't usually face a "do or die" pitching scenario, and the moment may have gotten too big for him. Sounds like the coach took a gamble that didn't pay off. Reeks of arrogance.

My thought was you could have put SEMO, K State, TCU, NC State, Little Rock, anyone in an LSU jersey that night and Arkansas’ 1B would have still chased a grounder to 2nd, the SS would have taken the lead runner at 3rd with 1 out in a 2 run game, the LF would have still taken a flyball off the forehead and the 2B would have still been 5 ft nothing on a soft liner over his head.
Maybe.. perhaps Arkansas would have made some errors, but pressure matters. If you put any of those teams in LSU jerseys for that game, and Arkansas is probably up 5 or more runs, and not put under pressure... So, maybe they make a mistake that isn't costly, but I bet they make far fewer of them. The pressure situation created the errors.

I called this during the Saturday game.. they showed Morrison in the dugout, and he had a blank expression. looked shell shocked, and he wasn't even playing.
I told my wife, and I text my friend who was in Omaha. I said, "that pitcher looks scared. He isn't engaged. He is not ready for this situation, mentally... He is going to fold as soon as they start hitting him."
Sure enough... I was actually surprised he made it as long as he did.

The umpire has hopefully called his last ever college baseball game. He was pathetic in MLB and pathetic in college baseball.
Regardless of all that happened, you do not eject a coach in the first inning of a Championship game. The thin skinned umpire could have easily handled it.
Ignore the coaches.
Then after the inning sauntered over to the dugout. Then had a conversation with them. Clearly told them to cease and desist.
And then boom it would have been over.
And the game would have been about the two teams and ultimately about LSU winning the National Championship.

All this handwringing for a "grown arse man" who couldn't control himself.

No. Just a bit of common sense.
The umpire made the day about himself and has taken away the spotlight from who should be in the spotlight.
LSU on winning the NC.

They did ignore him. Schnall kept yelling from the dugout about balls and strikes
Umpire finally tells him to be quiet
Schnall comes out of the dugout and yells about balls and strkes
Umpire tells him to get back in the dugout
Schnall reponds "Or what? Or fricking what?"
Umpire warns him a third time
Schnall keeps walking toward him "You missed 3 pitches. You missed 3 pitches"
Umpire throws him out
Coach is an unhinged idiot

He was to this CWS what wake’s pitching lab was in 2023. They never shut the frick up about it. He missed like 5 balls in the 2 games we played them. Dude was trying to frame shite that was breaking in the dirt or running a foot out of the zone. He seemed like a decent player but holy shite he didn’t look like a 1st round pick.
It was weird. The kid flat whiffed on several balls in the two games against LSU. You just don't see catchers do that very often.

I somewhat agree with you. I think that the umps should have given him more leeway and not tossed him so fast, but....he should have known not to put himself in a position to get ejected.
The game was way to important to even risk an ejection.

Coastal and Arkansas aren’t exactly a murderers row of college baseball programs.
We all know Arkansas makes some boneheaded plays at times, but they are a legit baseball program.

Are you saying the coaches can ignore warnings because it’s a big game?
Have you ever officiated any sport at all?

Show me in the rule book where you ignore a host rules because it’s a National Championship.
For a group that never called a game or reached a level to call one, you sure do your best to make fiction a reality.
My pre game always ended with “If you call time to come out and argue balls and strikes, there is a gate in the opposite dugout. Tell me what you came out for and shake the opposing coaches hand on the way out. End of the debate”
He will be calling more NCAA ball.
