I would be extremely impressed if many folks on here watch as many non-SEC games as I do non-Big 12 games.

we are not the goddamn ACC.
No. No, you're not. You're in the SEC now. SEC >> Big 12 and the ACC.

This image created in 1902 nearly started a shoot-out between to the 2 student bodies. Caused the game to be put on hold for 7 year (if not for those 7 years I believe it would be the longest uninterrupted rivalry in the nation) So lets hold it up one more times for those Auburn wannabes.
BTW they hate it when you call them Clempson, Clemzen, Clemons, or anything related so be sure to do that to anyone running into a Tigger this week.

I honestly hope we do.
I think the 2nd game would go much better than the first one this year

Are there any South Carolina fans that want to do a sig bet for the USC vs. Clemson game?
I have enough nerves for this game, don't want to add any extra stress.

Clemson is the MSU of the rivalry. Cow College all the way up there in Pickens county.

SC was back in the day before CU existed, CU was essentially created because some SC politicians, particularly one by the name of "Pitchfork" Ben Tillman didn't think SC was doing enough in agriculture so he did everything he could to have CU created. CU's original name was Clemson Agricultural College of South Carolina.
And yes that same Ben Tillman may not be considered the father of the Jim Crow South but he sure as hell did everything in his power to make it grow and sustain its existence.

U guys are going for 3 in a row? Thought I read in one of the game previews for this weekend that Clemson has won something like 7 of last 10 in the series. And that last year's back to back wins in the series for USC was a first for USC in over 20 + years. Stat, if right, seems very odd because USC has had some decent teams of late, and Clemson really hasn't. I guess if a team owned LSU like that, everyone here would hate them like you do Clemson.

They're actually up 6-4 over the last 10 games. Both with a few close wins and some beat downs. (3-3 under Spurrier)
And what set us back so many games in this series was going independent after the 1970 season. Floating around as an Independent and then suddenly jumping into the SEC where we just weren't even close to being ready. Both athletically and culturally which is why its taken so long for us to even get where we are now. From 1896-1970 CU lead the series 37-27 and some ties. From 1971-2008 CU leads 27-10 and a tie.
I stopped at 2008 because the subsequent years are the years when we started reeling in all the top in-state talent. Talent that usually went to Clemson or out of state. Also Spurrier was pretty open about unstressing the importance of the CU game, saying the ultimate goal was to win the SEC. Not to beat CU (might explain some of his woes vs FSU). However the fans have made it real clear to him how important it is and this week SC has called it "our big championship game" you can see how his mentality has changed. And with it the results.
For too long both CU and SC's ultimate goals were to win their conferences, but the difference was once both of those were out of reach Clemson's still saw a big goal in beating SC, SC's fans felt that same mutual goal towards Clemson but our teams didn't seem to. That has changed.

Given that they have played over 100 times and CU's win % of .601 isn't that big of a disparity.
