I'm glad everyone on this site could come together for the greater good last Saturday to give LSU fans a taste of their own medicine. It has temporarily changed their tune. Suddenly, they don't want to talk about refs and holding as much.

The situations aren’t entirely dissimilar. Both had a clear impact on the outcome and could have far-reaching consequences for both teams beyond this singular game.

LSU Fans when confronted with proof that their team holds damn near every play:

Is this the narrative? LSU ran over 80 plays and they made a holding video of 7 holds. Game changing stuff I tell ya.

they aren't entirely dissimilar in the fact they were both football games, but the magnitude, the egregiousness of the missed call, the moment, the national reaction, the resulting rule changes, etc. all point to the NFC no call being one of the worst calls of all time, while LSU Auburn had a couple of holds not called (both ways).

4 of which were questionable based on what has been allowed the last few years

Is this supposed to be irony? Or, is it lost on you?

Some of those on the video weren't even holds, there were a couple where the Auburn lineman was double or even triple teamed.

The most egregious no-call was the Deculus hold on LSU's first touchdown that I was surprised didn't get called, which would have been offsetting penalties because Auburn interfered with the receiver.

As far as the "strangle holds" go, these don't get called a lot. I'm sure Chaisson had a couple of no-calls on this kind of thing in the Auburn game, and for sure had multiple no-calls like that in the Texas and Florida games.

And, if you want to play this game, there were back to back "bad" calls that went Auburn's way that helped on their final touchdown drive. On 2nd and 8, Seth Williams clearly pushed off of Stingley on a 16-yard reception, yet offensive pass interference wasn't called. On the following play, Stingley gets flagged for a phantom defensive pass interference.

So, instead of having what should have been 2nd and 23 from the Auburn 49, we got 1st and 10 at the 20 followed immediately be a 1st and goal from the LSU 5.

It is pretty wild that an officiating crew that threw 27 flags on the day did allow so much holding on both teams, though.

I think the refs are an age old excuse by sore losers.

Yes and no. If you complain about refs for every loss, that is just petty. But on the rare occasion that an egregious call or calls clearly sway the outcome of a game, then I have no problem complaining. 2004 LSU-Auburn, 2009 LSU-Alabama, 2018 LSU-A&M, 2018-19 Saints-Rams are just a few that stuck with me. There are countless others that did not involve a team I was rooting for.

2019 LSU-Auburn is not a good example for Auburn to be complaining about. They had numerous bad calls go their way as well. To take the time to make an Instagram video is petty.

Auburn lost by three points and the video clearly shows holds on two touchdown plays. That’s two scoring plays directly influenced by the failure to appropriately flag the hold. To further contextualize, earlier in the initial LSU scoring drive when they were backed up inside the 10, Burrow’s scramble on 3rd and 12 was available because of a hold on Derrick Brown.

Why would we have no right to complain when we had our own aspirations for this season? Your attempt to trivialize the significance in comparison is myopic and confusingly irrational.

Is this thread anchored? Why are the replies not pushing it to the top?

Is this seriously happening?

They can't afford to lose their monopoly on ref whining.

Those are definitely blatant. LSU better pray that the refs call the Bama game the same way, because if they don't then LSU is going to have a TON of holding penalties

Complain away, but like the poster who I replied to said, you're a sore loser. I guarantee Auburn has been held without a call in every game it has ever played. I just watched most of the LSU-Auburn game on replay during lunch, and I seen multiple holds by Auburn that weren't called, including one on your final scoring drive. You should count your blessings it wasn't a blow out.
