John Abraham. His last 2 seasons at South Carolina we lost 21 straight games. He was the 13th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.

Patrick Willis was a freshman during Eli's senior year on a 10-3 season, then never went to a bowl after that.

Tuscaloosa your posts are often so enjoyable to read.

I have a question for you,…..why do you call yourself an Alabama fan?

Your posts are so much more anti-Auburn than anything else. You are an anti-Auburn fan, not an Alabama fan.

Kevin Mawae LSU 1990-1993

Went from playing for idiot Curly Hallman the worst coach in LSU history. Never having a winning season or bowl game to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

We can only imagine if Emmitt had stayed on for Spurrier's first year in 1990.

He'd be pass blocking and catching swing passes and regretting coming back.

Love Emmitt but proof is in the pudding, he made the right call.

Cornelius Bennett was an All-American on an Alabama team that went 5-7.
It also had Paul Ott Carruth, Preston Gothard, and Van Tiffin.

Though to be fair that included 1 score losses to:
A Doug Flutie-led Boston College
1 point on the road to Tennessee
2 points to #12 LSU

But it was also the last time Alabama lost to Vanderbilt.

Back to the 1950s: Bart Starr at Alabama during the Ears Whitworth era an
Bill Majors at Tennesse. Bill followed his brother John but played on some mediocre teams. Also, remember in that era, players played both offense and defense; both excelled either way. Starr was also a great punter.
