It's too bad the CFDW closed down.

This is also a response thread to the AP's all-time rankings.

Tennessee: 11 losing seasons, 14 10+ wins/season

wow, Clemson has had 14 10+ seasons since 1968, right there with the top programs in the SEC.

11 losing seasons including 1968, with 8 of losing seasons in 1976 or prior.

Yeah that was a great site when it was still around. Any idea why it shut down?

If you count 14 as being close to 28, you'd be correct.

excluding the most sanctioned program in college ball

lol

Clemson made up a lot of ground by having 8 straight 10 plus win seasons this decade.

No clue. They stopped updating their rankings after the 2015 season and even the "revamped" version is gone now too.

never really got that comparison

to be like Clemson you gotta be next to a lake or large river nestled in the foothills of mountains.

alabama actually has the better claim to the great honor of being the Clemson of the SEC.

not that u would want to swim in the black warrior river.

What did writer Dave Berry used to call Clemson? "North Auburn", or "Auburn with a lake"

he said Clemson is Auburn with a lake, which sounds like a huge upgrade to this humble reporter.

Auburn seems a lot more urban than Clemson. they have a McDonalds right across from campus.

Followed the link, and frankly... I find it VERY hard to believe that Alabama ranks 7th in conference championships.

01 Oklahoma
02 Michigan
03 Nebraska
04 Ohio St
04 USC
06 Tulsa

So you have two major conferences where Oklahoma and Nebraska often split, similar for Michigan and Ohio St. USC I can believe, and Tulsa is a load of BS. I can maybe believe Michigan and Oklahoma due to the 30's/40's/50's and so forth.

But Alabama won a LOT of conference championships. I'd want to see some raw numbers.
