The "Formula" to beat Mississippi State inside... (if there is one)

ON DEFENSE
1) Stack the box. We need 7-8 in the box at all times.
2) DO NOT play the CBs 10 yards off the WRs every play. Keep them in press half the time, and push them back around 4-5 yards the rest of the time.
3) Blitz and be aggressive on defense.
4) Gamble and play man-to-man while blitzing, no zone. Tell the CBs to actually make plays on the ball. As of now, it seems like the coaches are telling them to let the WRs catch the ball, then react.
5) Sit Daren Bates.
6) Consider using the 5-2-4 defense some of the time...
Starting lineup:
DE - Corey Lemonier/Dee Ford
DT - Angelo Blackson/Game Wright/Ken Carter
DT - Jeff Whitaker
DE - Nosa Equae/Craig Sanders
LB - Jawara White/Justin Garrett
LB - Jake Holland/Eltoro Freeman
LB - Jonathan Evans/Eltoro Freeman
CB - T'sharvan Bell
CB - Chris Davis/John Mincy
S - Neiko Thorpe/Erique Florence
S - Demetruce McNeal
ON OFFENSE
1) Come out with the spread and use McCalebb/Mason while also slinging the ball around. Wear down the defense so it'll be easier to establish a running game on a tired defense with Michael Dyer. The won't be able to block them straight up to begin the game.
2) Take Jared Cooper out, play Christian Westerman. Keep Blake Burgess on the bench, he's just too small.
3) Get John Sullen healthy. If he can't go, play Eric Mack.
4) Let Kiehl Frazier come in a run some wildcat plays, or some other simple plays.
5) Give Trovon more bubble screens
6) Later in the game, pound the D with Dyer in the Wildcat (depending on how the OLINE is doing).
7) Get Lutz the ball, early and often
**Can't throw together a starting lineup because we have so many formations**
Thoughts?
If we do this, I believe we have a chance to win. Maybe we'll at least keep it close. I think Gus will keep us in the game for the most part, if the D doesn't show up (for the upteenth time)...

LSU will show you how to beat MSU on the 15th.

Westerman is smaller than Burgess

They're about the same, but Westerman has a much higher ceiling and I am willing to bet he is stronger.
Play the freshman, not the scrub walk-on.

The formula is to stack the box and make Relf beat you throwing. I can't remember a game where State won because Relf threw the ball well.

Last year's Egg Bowl Relf threw for 250yds and 2tds
Gator Bowl vs Michigan Relf passed for 270yds and 3tds

please, please, please play man- please
We finally have the WR's to make people pay.
If you think the coaches are telling the players that, then you are retarded. They are playing that far off because they are inexperienced and will get roasted if they play tighter
only if you want to get him hurt- you cant block Utah St but you are going to pound us?

this shite again.

Relf might have been the only QB NOT to throw for over 300 yards against our defense last year.

because Michigan and OLE miss are the pinnacle of college football pass defenses. Also he didn't even break 300 yds. although 3td is solid it was against an abortion of a team.

We have a more "talented" secondary than both of those teams, our gameplans just suck...
So, if we use the same gameplan that was used against Utah State, Relf will absolutely tear our secondary apart. IMO, that's not good... Relf is a below average to mediocre passer.

This is why I also want him starting, plus the fact that he might have been the most aggressive lineman in the offseason. I would rather have young guys out there knocking the piss out of guys (even if it's the wrong guy) than older guys who know who to block, but can't.

I hope Auburn starts 2 Freshmen on the OL vs us. Their RBs will be falling out like Ole Miss' were vs BYU

Should he include the running stats as well
Relf is a good SEC QB

We can match up.

They do tell them that. It's been in the gameplan since Roof got here. Before, not so much (that I remember).

What else do you want me to say?
"Yeah, but Dyer in there. But Dyer won't gain any yards and State defenders will knock him back into last week."
If we can tire out the D we'll have a chance to do that. Just depends on how the OLINE prepares this week (like I said).
