The last 4 games of the 2018 season will bring about the end of a decade long era and usher in a new era. LSU has occupied a prominent position is the SEC West since Nick Saban lifted them out of their perpetual funk. Over the past 7 years LSU has hung on to some vestiges of excellence in spite of their annual loss to Alabama. But this year that will change. What Alabama is about to do to LSU will be the first nail in this series of events. But, the metamorphosis will be complete when LSU travels to College Station on Thanksgiving and comes home looking like Friday's turkey carcass. These events will signify the end of a decade long aberration and return LSU football to it's traditional place as a mid-tear program, with Texas A&M ascending to a more prominent position.
In the near future I expect to see the scheduling reflect this new reality as Alabama will play LSU much earlier in the season with little fanfare and the Bama/ aTm game will occur late season with each team's bye week coming just prior to that game. This and the Iron Bowl will be the games circled on the Alabama schedule each season. A refreshing and welcome change it will be!

Couple things here...

Game is on Saturday.

So if LSU beats Bama next week do we take over the top spot? Since 1 win in 8 years gets to change your standing and all.

That game has been in November since 1982 so don't look for that to change anytime soon.

When I click on a thread and my entire screen is filled with a wall of text, I know it's time to move on.

This post would've been much more effective BEFORE LSU beat UGA.

Remember all the doom and gloom posts declaring the end of LSU football last August?

Like two national championship appearances, one for a win, and more NFL draftees than you can shake a stick at, all in spite of an archaic offense in the later years? That's not "hanging on." That IS excellence.

You weirdos really do think you're the center of the universe, don't you? Did your seasons end after losing to LSU in the game of the century, or after losses to ATM, Auburn, Ole Miss, or whoever?

In how many years since you started hearing that has LSU won anything of significance?
