The state actually has a lot going for it. A lot of natural beauty. A good place to raise a family.
But we're talking college football. I'm just speaking from many years of being a LSU fan and living here. I don't hate Alabama the state, or the university, just the football team. For reasons past and present. Because there are no pro teams or any other types of professional sports here, college football is King. Which makes it ripe for certain "irregularities" .
My father brought me up listening and watching LSU football. We had many years of frustration under Charlie Mac against the "Bear". But this was before scholarship limits. I'd ask my Dad, why do they have so many more players than we do? I remember the Tide having players endzone to endzone seemingly 10 deep.The locals tell me the Bear would offer scholarships to players so other teams couldn't have the players.
Now you have Saban coming in and poaching players from Lousiana. I say poaching because of his "techniques". Saban had hardly been crowned as Bama's savior before he was recruiting based on the relationships with Louisiana high school head coaches he had established as LSU's head coach. I respect Saban's coaching ability. But IMO he has little or no moral or ethical boundaries. That was reinforced by his recruitment of Landon Collins. I don't think the NCAA had a rule in place against giving a player's girlfriend a scholly and a job because no one thought a coach would stoop that low. Now they know and I'm betting a rule will soon be in place to stop that. But Saban will come up with another way to skirt the rules.
When you won the championship against Texas I mentioned that it was too bad Colt McCoy didn't get to play the majority of the game. Of course that only served to piss off the Bama faithful who responded as if his presence vs the freshman they put in had little outcome to the game. C'mon!
And finally on this too long rant let's talk about last year. I've heard too many times we got lucky in the first game. bullshite. If anything you're brilliant coach tried too many 50 yard fieldgoals rather than playing field position. We beat you, plain and simple. Accept it like the men (or women) you claim to be.
Which brings us to the NC game. You outplayed us in every phase. You whupped our arse. No excuses. I will say our coach was a dumbass for not at least trying Jarrett Lee in the second half our chunking the football downfield to Reuben Randle regardless of the coverage. I'd bet he would have come down with the ball or at least drawn a flag. But you were without a doubt the better team, at least on that day. I just wish I could hear a Bama fan admit something similar. That they just got beat. But I never do. Oh, except for the probation years. Those years were sweet. I enjoyed listening to Pawwl back then.

Up until two years ago I never had any issue with Bama fans (at least all the ones I had met in person). Then I listened to Finebaum for the first time. The Bama fans that call that show is how your fanbase is being portrayed to a large audience. These arrogant morons give the perception that every Bama fan is a dumbass douche bag.
