I'd also like to nominate 2012 Alabama vs. LSU as the better football moment. #1 Alabama vs. #5 LSU, at LSU. The revenge game for the 2011 BCSNG embarrassment. One minute flat on the clock, LSU is up 17–14, and McCarron finds Yeldon on a screen for a 28 yard TD.

Moments that were bigger than Kick 6:

2012 Screen pass to Yeldon

2009 Cody Block

Probably half a dozen plays from the 45-40 national championship game for the 2015 season

2nd and 26 for the title against Georgia

Why?

Because all of those led to Alabama hoisting one of these:

Or one of these:

Also, the 6-6 qualifier is pure gold.

During the 6 year Auburn win streak, they beat the following Alabama teams.

2002: 10-3
2003: 4-9
2004: 6-6
2005: 10-2
2006: 6-7
2008: 7-6

Weirdly still hear the "GO CRAZY CADILLAC" call and see t-shirts with it on them quite often around Iron Bowls in Auburn, even though it was against pitiful 4-9 Alabama.

As a guy who doesn't give a shite about either Alabama or Auburn, I care more about what moments put me on the edge of my seat when I'm not even emotionally invested in either team. The Kick Six did that. 2012 McCarron to Yeldon did that. The entire second half of the Camback game was a classic. 4th and 31 just looked like fearful incompetence in a 6–6 that was starting to gel a little too late vs. the commanding poise of a team led by Nick Saban. It was almost painful to watch.

You don’t get to define what matters and doesn’t matter in this rivalry. I was a student at Alabama during Auburn’s 6 game winning streak. I saw one win during those years. So I’ll enjoy the hell out of any win over Auburn. Especially one in JHS.

Much like with Tennessee, Alabama can never beat AU enough for it to grow old. Blowouts are nice but winning in a close, agonizing way makes it even more enjoyable.

Also Kick 6 was especially legendary because Saban demanded the 1 second back on the clock, and Malzahn made a great strategic move to put Davis in the game to return the long field goal.

4th and 31 was a much more talented team playing less physical and sloppy all game, then have their bigger receiver push off and make a game winning catch.

4th and 31 was a big play and it hurt even if it only meant 7 wins vs 6.

The muffed punt hurt and then watching 3 guys look at Milroe setting his feet while smoking a brisket before throwing was maddening.

NMSU absolutely shredded the defense the week before.
