Louisiana and aristocratic aren't often heard in the same sentence.

New Years Eve is worse, the bars and restaurants make less money, the bartenders and servers make less tips (South Georgia peanut/dirt farmers don’t understand the custom of tipping) they bring Deliverance Culture to an ancient Southern Aristocratic City.

I thought the Cotton Bowl chairman Hoss Brock passed way a few years ago, but apparently he's alive and well.

And for all you youngsters who don't know about Hoss Brock - he was famously quoted as saying the Cotton Bowl didn't want The University of Houston to win the SWC and go to the Cotton Bowl because “Damn it, half of these (Houston) people will come up here and eat at the 7-Eleven store, and the other half will be trying to hold it up,”

New Orleans was one of the most aristocratic cities, a French Creole aristocracy that came to blend in with the new British one that came through when the Louisiana purchase happened. They created a unique aristocratic spirit that is a mix of both heritages.
It is drowned out now by how much of a shithole Nola is now though.
Southwest Louisiana was always country Cajun bumpkins, tho, so don’t get it twisted.

You would think it would be a cleaner town given the whole place being washed away 20 years ago.

NOLA is a blast. Yeah, it stinks, but great food everywhere and booze flows freely.

Natchez, Mississippi once had the highest number of millionaires, per capita, in the US.

Charleston, South Carolina was once the richest city in the US.

NOLA cannot be compared to a city like Atlanta. Anyone disparaging Atlanta simply hasn't spent time in the city, or they just don't like cities. There is a reason that Atlanta has the businest airport in the world, and hosts so many international events and championships like the FIFA World Cup, MLB All-Star games, SECCGs, CFB NCs, etc.

As a braves fan and saints fan, I visit both cities a lot. I like both, but being able to just park your vehicle when you get to Nola is awesome. As a visitor, I'd pick Nola. If I were picking a place to live, Atlanta
