According to ESPN, the Chick-fil-a Bowl will enter the playoff rotation and be renamed the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl

Great to hear. Love the traditional names. Wish Capital One would go back to the Citrus Bowl.

At least its a step in the right direction. Most of these bowls named after companies are stupid sounding. I hope they do go back to their old names.

I guess that squashes speculation that the original Peach Bowl was coming back since the Chic Fil A Bowl was in playoff rotation. They just combined them instead.

I like "The _______ Bowl presented by ______."

Unfortunately, the companies will be sticking around for the money. BUT, you can separate it some this way.

^^^ This. "The Rose Bowl presented by Vizio" sounds a lot better than "The Vizio Bowl".

And the Vizio Rose Bowl at least sounds better than the Vizio Bowl.

That's awesome, I hate the recent blatant commercialism of the bowl names.

I used to not like the commercialism... but Chick Fil A donates a ton of money to charities and the community. At some point, that bowl was the most philanthropic bowl over a decade in the country.

Who cares what the naming rights are if the organization at the top of it focuses on good deeds.

The Peach Bowl is normally one of the best games of the bowl season year in and year out.

It's their right as capitalists, but I don't see the need for all the advertising if they're "focusing on good deeds."

Selling the name of your entity(bowl); actually severely decreases the impact of the sponsorship.

I couldn't even tell you who any of the sponsors of the Sugar Bowl were after USF&G. The brand connections these companies are seeking from their $'s are increasingly becoming bad deals. Costs are going up, differentiation is becoming non-existent, and sponsorship dilution is overwhelming.

There's too many bowls, and there's only a few of them that are interesting enough to create any kind of buzz. Greed kills again.

Thank goodness. The traditional names keep a bowl color and consistency.

I have no problem with a sponser, but it shouldn't completely replace the real name.

Every time the sponser changes, the whole bowl name changes.

Like what is known currently as the Russell Athletic Bowl, it's been known as the

Blockbuster (1990-1993)
Carquest (1994-1997)
MicronPC (1998-2000)
Mazda (2002-2003)
Champs Sports (2004-2011)
Russell Athletic (2012-present)

which is ridiculous.

Sponser bowl names sound tacky too.

Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl is fine, that's what it was known as for many years and is consistent with other sponsored games, aka Discover Orange Bowl.

The sponser may change, but the Orange remains (remember FedEX Orange Bowl).

no complaints from me.

went to the chicken sandwich bowl this year and outside of the result had a great time.

nice area to hang out before the game, volunteers all over the place to give advice on where to go, and was not bothered once by a homeless person. gotta be one of the best run bowl games in the country.

College football capital of the world. No reason for Atlanta not to be included.
