After clinching a CWS final berth, Sooners pitcher David Sandlin revealed his motivation -- his sister, Holli, who lost her battle with cancer:

“Every time I go out there I get to play for her and play for a higher power.”

That team had great pitching depth.

That depends on who has the hot bats.

Here come the excuses. Don’t be like that, It’s pathetic. Let’s just enjoy the games, you’re all winners in my book.

Last year Vandy, with the best 1-2 starters in the country, had a bye in the semi's and went to the finals fully rested.

Miss St & Texas went the limit, with Miss St winning an emotionally charged 4-3 game to advance.

Advantage: Vanderbilt
Winner: Mississippi State

I’d bet you a $1000 to the veterans charity of the winners choice that Oklahoma will will lose at least three losses year one in conference in the SEC football

Going to be real fun seeing the excuses this place comes up with when we win our first SEC title in football

No disrespect intended, but me thinks you will be waiting for that fun for many years. You will first need to really understand what "It just means more" really means.

ETA frick Texas.

As much as it pains me to agree with a shorthorn, this is absolutely correct. It is going to boil down to what it always boils down to, who executes better. OU has done everything it can to put itself in the best position to win, now they have to do it.

We just played a worn out SEC team today.

They were worn out because of the jar passing and the nut grabbing, not because of baseball

And even with that OU would be doing better than A&M's average of 3.5 conference losses per year since joining the SEC. I'd bet you that same bet that in its first 10 years OU will do better than A&M's three winning records in conference.
Look, I am not MOJO-a-hole... I know it's going to be a transition, but OU will still win more games than not. Most OU fans feel that OU will lose more games than it has in the past, however the condescending idea that many SEC fans seem to hold that OU will be nothing better than mid-tier in the SEC is not very realistic either. The truth lies in the middle. OU will lose, but they will BEAT good teams as well. The SEC is about to become even MORE competitive that it has been, and that is saying something.

No excuses. We fricked ourselves by starting a dude who's only had one start all season in that first game against Ole Miss. If we don't have enough arms to throw at Oklahoma thems the breaks. Better hope the bats show up.

That's if Arkansas can get past Ole Miss of course. Can't wait to see this game this afternoon. Should be a great game.

Lucky they only had to face one team from the SEC West.

4-1 against the SEC (all games against national seeds) and 6-2 against all national seeds this post-season, but yes, this is the right take away
