I get that nobody cares about basketball. And I get that the sec is the best conference for football. I’m not going to debate these points cause I agree. But with the way the sec thinks of themselves… that is actually the reality for big 12 basketball.

The Big 12 has 3 basketball national titles since 2008, the SEC has 11 football titles in the same span.

B12 is definitely better. Historically and this season as well from top to bottom. The only flaw in the B12 superiority argument is the lack of actual skins on the wall insofar as NCs go. In that category, the SEC still has them beat over the last 30 years. Nonetheless, the SEC does suck arse in hoops.

The Big 12 has won 2 straight National Championships in basketball. The SEC has a streak of 7 straight National Championships in football and have now won 4 straight (and counting) National Championships in football.

Maybe you should slow your roll.

I might add that when we won 7 straight they were won by 4 different teams.
The streak we are on now (4 straight) has been won by 3 different teams.

When the BIG 12 matches that come back and we can discuss it again.

Comparing basketball and football is apples and oranges

It’s easier to win football championships for blue blood football schools than bball titles for bball blue bloods for many reasons

This is true, but football NCs are more legitimate championships than basketball NCs are. As others have pointed out before, giant tournaments are great for betting and overall excitement, but terrible for determining actual champions.

I agree, the best team doesn't win the tournament a lot of the time...but him comparing the SEC football dominance with Big 12 basketball is absurd.

1 NC championship in Basketball in 35 or so years.

Think the SEC is a bit more successful in football. But hey… whatever you think.

And? Please explain. Also, keep in mind that Alabama is the only Blue Blood that won a National Championship in quite awhile. After that Ohio State.

Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina have all won Championships in the last 10 years. Seems to me like it is easier for Blue Bloods to win in basketball.

Actually they have two. Baylor and Kansas. Back to back for the Big 12. Still not as strong as the SEC in football though. Not even close.

Why? The sec usually has a few top teams and top to bottom yes they are the best but top to bottom Big 12 is so far ahead of the other conferences in basketball it’s not even funny.

SEC is top heavy in a regional sport. Big 12 excellent top to bottom in a national sport.
