Percy Harvin would be a top 10 RB of the last 20 years if he primarily played the position

Harvin would've been hurt every other game getting 10-20 carries between the tackles.

don't worry he had a special cure that he could not stay off of to fix that

I seen McFadden play and he was a great back. To say it's "not close" means you didn't see some others play.
He's neck-and-neck in a group including McFadden, Chubb, Peterson, Todd Gurley, Moreno and Mark Ingram from Bama. All of those backs were great and had areas they excelled in more than others but all were about equal. That's just in the last couple of decades.

yeah...McFadden was head and shoulders above those guys.

You seriously think that Nick Chubb and Todd Gurley would have never seen the field on that team?
maybe? Do you not realize how good Felix jones and Peyton hillis were? Felix was a 1st round pick as McFadden and hillis ended up being a pro bowl back in Cleveland even though he was a 7th round pick

Y'all had no business beating us in 2007 with friggin casey Dick slinging the rock. Did even pass for a hundred. Mcfadden on the other hand went for 200+ with 3 TD's, just wouldn't let y'all lose
this is what all these Georgia fans don’t seem to get. Those backs for Georgia always had a competent passing game even if it wasn’t great. Not to mention a great defense to get the ball back to the offense and let those backs were on you. Arkansas had none of that. Arkansas was a muffed punt away from playing in the national title and beating Florida in the 06 sec title game almost single handedly due to Dmac. He’s in the conversation with Henry, Walker and Bo as the best back to ever play in the sec. As good as those backs from Georgia were they aren’t in that league

Gurley and Chubb were significantly better than Peyton Hillis, and at least as good as Felix Jones.

I’ll give you hillis but in college, Felix was a threat to go to the house every time he touched the ball. Chub and gurley both were better than all 3 in the nfl and I think that along with recency bias is clouding some minds

"Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette were better than all of those UGA running backs"

This ought to light some fires but it is true...
With all due respect to StrongOffer, Fournette wasn't even the best back on his team. Despite his personal shortcomings, Derruis Guice was a better RB. Guice has a higher career average YPC to prove it. Fournette was biggger but Guice ran at least as hard, had way more lateral agility, and had better speed than Leonard (see the NFL combine numbers). Anyhow, those UGA backs were pretty damn good, as well.

I've seen all those guys play. I've seen every underrated RB Auburn has put on the field do great. I've watched some great LSU RB's over the last 2 decades.

McFadden is the only one I've seen that I've thought "oh he's about to embarass our defense" every time he touched the ball.

He's the best running back LSU has played against in this century.

I always said this and for whatever reason this pissed off lsu fans at the time. Fournette didn’t scare me near as much as guice. Guice seemed to be at top speed as soon as he touched the ball

Both of these guys are criminally disrespected on this board. If either of them had played on the 2019 team they would have reset the bar for greatest single season for an RB.

I saw Darren McFadden play against Alabama in Bryant-Denny back in 2005. He picked up yardage against us that day and I remember being so frustrated by the fact that this freshman kept getting outside against our elite defense. Little did I know...

I was at that game too. He stiffed armed Roman Harper to the ground on his way for an 80 yard TD run.

I couldn't believe it. Harper was an All-American and I couldn't believe what I just saw from a freshman on the road.

Yeah. It looked like dmac was primed for a good little run in Oakland, then he got hurt in 2011.

Gurley has done okay in the NFL, but Chubb has been a superstar.

Recency bias.

Felix Jones would have gotten the start over any of those Georgia backs.

I would like to reiterate that DMAC played with Casey Dick as his QB during his 2007 year. He was always the focal point of the team and had to share carries with Felix Jones while facing an SEC west schedule unlike all these other comparisons.

I would also like to mention Trent Richardson was a beast during his tenure. Doesn't have the career eye popping numbers but I can't remember a stronger harder to tackle RB in recent years.

I remember that ARK team being also pretty dysfunctional because Jones and McFadden were incredibly great RBs.

Saw Darren McFadden play in person several times in person and he was electric. Also watched Derrick Henry multiple times and he was a freak.
