The beginning of the end was when the best coach of all time left to go to the greatest program of all time

And the end was when we slapped that arse in the title game.

L7U has been dead for a while

That's not quite what happened. He wanted to pursue his dream of coaching in the NFL but didn't have much success at Miami and after 2 years was ready to return to College football. LSU was having pretty good success under Miles and was not gonna be fired...Bama offered him crazy $ and the rest is history.

If you gumps really think Bama was gonna steal Saban away from LSU when your program was not as good...you're nuts. You need to say a prayer every nite and thank god Saban wanted to try the NFL. Cause history would be a lot different. Congrats on taking advantage

Well, let's be honest here. You chose Rich Rod and he turned you down.

add some stats to it and you got a winner..

quote:

LSU ran its record to 3-1 overall following last week's 35-26 win over Syracuse in Tiger Stadium. In that game, five different Tigers scored touchdowns as LSU led from start to finish in the victory over the Orange. Troy, members of the Sun Belt Conference, won 10 games a year ago capped with a 28-23 win over Ohio in the Dollar General Bowl. The Trojans are coming off a 22-17 victory over Akron last week and stand at 3-1 overall. Troy has won three straight games since dropping a 24-13 decision at Boise State to open the season.

quote:

LSU leads the series with Troy, 2-0, however, the Tigers had to rally from a 31-3 second half deficit to win, 40-31, in 2008 in Tiger Stadium. In 2004, LSU scored a touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game to win, 24-20. The Tigers bring a 49-game non-conference Tiger Stadium winning streak into the Troy game. The streak stands as the longest current streak in college football and is also the longest such streak in modern day college football history. Harvard holds the longest non-conference home field winning streak at 55 straight from 1890-95. LSU last lost a home non-conference game in 2000, dropping a 13-10 last-second decision to UAB.

quote:

Our teams has come in focused this week and are working hard to get better with each practice,” LSU coach Ed Orgeron said after Thursday's workout. “This (Troy) is a physical football team and an opponent that we respect. They have come into Tiger Stadium before and played very well so they are going to have confidence that they can do it again. Our team is going to be ready to play.
