Lie? What, because the AP doesn't recognize half of the NC's we have? #1 is #1 at the end of a season. The university doesn't recognize 6 other NC's they could claim.
12 is 12. Regardless of the AP or Harris or Coaches or whatever poll or establishment.
It's not our fault that no one wants to give Alabama that sort of credit for being so awesome. Who would dare actually look up which team deserved it those years? Oh, and besides, it was when football was so different than it is now.
Come on guys. If you don't wanna give Bama the credit for the 12, then look up the records yourself and see if we weren't deserving of that title for those specific years.
There wasn't a TITLE game in some of those earlier years. No trophy. But everyone always acts like that magical #12 isn't recognized and posted for a reason in the world. COME ON guys. Look it up.

You do realize that until Perkins came along even the storied Capstone didn't recognize most of those titles either don't you?
Perkins started claiming those older titles to make it seem like he wasn't stepping into such a big shadow.
If Bama (and Bear) claimed all of those older titles, how do you explain this shirt?

So,then why do they claim that insane 1941 one and not a more legitimate,and deserving 'unclaimed' one from 1966 or 1945 ?
Say whatever you wish,but that 1941 one is a joke and adds fuel to the fire on some of your other ones. 3rd place in the SEC and #19 in the AP poll and say you are "NATIONAL CHAMPION" because some now defunct outfit awarded you a title that season is just absurd.

Exactly right. Bama has 6 national titles and that is it, period. Anything else is simply bullshite (I love the one where the goatfrickers claim a NC when they finished ranked 20th in the AP poll). Bama started claiming all these extra retroactive titles in the 80's under Perkins when they realized they may not win anymore for a very long time. What a joke UAT has become.
