I've not only whipped this horse to death, I've dug it's grave, buried it and sent flowers. Now I think it's time to build a statue for a tombstone.

Arkansas allowed 25.1 PPG last season, a 6 point improvement from 2008, and placed 9th in the SEC.

I don't give a crap about yardage. I would love to eliminate yardage, but if you can give up 700 yards per game and still win, yards don't matter. The same would hold true for an offense. If an O can put up 800 yards but not win, who cares?

Over the last 3 seasons (too lazy to go back further) 22 PPG places you between #5 and #7 in the SEC. I 100% expect Arkansas to shave 3pts off it's PPG in 2010 and place itself as a middle of the pack, mediocre defense. This is an improvement from a back of the pack, embarrassing defense. Last years winners for most embarrassing go to 10) Miss St, 11)Georgia and 12)Auburn

Arkansas returns more defensive lettermen than any team in the country, 8 starters, return key players that missed all of 2009 due to injury, added quality depth, hired one of the best coaches in the business and our schedule moves from the #3 strength of schedule to #27.

So there you have it, again. This 'delusional' Hog fan is expecting the Arkansas defense to shave a whopping 2 to 3 points off the PPG total and land in the middle of the pack.

The #1 offense and a middle of the pack defense should be good enough for a 9-3 type of season and you can kiss my arse. Cool story bro. Go frick yourselves and YOU MAD.

By the way, that's:

2007: 5 wins
2008: 8 wins
2009: 10 wins with a bowl 'W'

To me, that looks like steady improvement from lil ole R-Kansas.

I don't think anyone would be shocked if Arkansas had a 2006 type season and won 9-10 games in the regular season.

There isn't a USC on the schedule like in 2006, so I mean, realistically, if the defense is marginally better and the offense doesn't get worse, they could have a big year.

Not saying something isn't the same as not saying it. Wrap your head around that.

Even if Arkansas' defense improves who says the offenses in the SEC aren't improved as well?

Bama- improved
State- improved
LSU- improved
Auburn- improved*
UGA- improved*
UF- push
USCe- improved

*more than likely will improve

Something else to consider,

Arkansas had a brutal road schedule last year

playing

9-4 LSU
14-0 Alabama
13-1 Florida
9-4 Ole Miss

all on the road.

This year they get

5-7 MSU
8-5 Auburn
7-6 South Carolina
8-5 Georgia

Huge difference.

and not one "shoe in"

If I were a hog fan I'd feel more comfortable playing LSU and Bama at home than Auburn, SCar, and UGA on the road. Road games are tough in the SEC. Breaking news, I know.
