Same people who cried with Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy. It's ok though, there's an Olive Garden near the RV area.

You morons might want to look at a map of the area near the Hoover Met since you obviously aren't attending the tourney.

No need to move the tournament anywhere.
The upgrades they’ve added this year tells me the tournament isn’t going anywhere in the next few years.
The Finley Center rt beside the stadium is a huge draw. Families can go in there and let the kids play while they cool off and watch on the big screens.
Huge parking lots with plenty of room to tailgate.
Kids playground with a splash pad
Massive RV park with fans from every school hanging out together cooking, drinking and enjoying the high level baseball you get here

When you have to mention parking lots in 2 of your 4 bulliet points, it's time to look elsewhere

You'd have to pass about 30 other restaurants and bars to get there. That's a low estimate.

Parking is a primary consideration for something like the sec baseball tournament.

You're advocating for the tournament to move somewhere that you prefer and against keeping the tournament somewhere SEC baseball fans actually enjoy, while trying to make the absolutely incorrect statement that those other people are doing this same thing.
If you'd actually been to Hoover recently, you'd realize the very things you're looking for exist there.

You have no idea what you’re talking about when it comes to hosting a tournament this size.
There’s more to it than having a “cool” looking field with nice restaurants nearby.

You're very defensive of Hoover, Alabama.

you have to keep in mind the hotels as well
I remember when New Orleans was trying to bid on it, there is basically no hotels in the footprint of where that park is
The thing that makes Hoover so hospitable is the hotel footprint to house all 12, soon to be 16 teams.

Fine...I quit. Let's keep it in Hoover because parking lots. Of all the iconic cities in the south well send our boys to Hoover, AL to close the season. Until the boomer crowd dies out and we move it to a destination that afford a great experience during and after games.... cause God forbid we strive for both

We have both now.

Sure guy. I clearly misunderstood this comment to be disparaging of the amenities near the Hoover Met.

Obviously, this was meant to be complimentary. You obviously weren't trying to say that the only reason to have the tourney in Hoover is because there are subpar chain restaurants in the area that you believe people who own RVs would enjoy. Silly me.

Depends on what your definition of great experience is.
This tournament is run top notch with a great environment.
I’m 35 yrs old by the way so not sure I qualify as a boomer.

FFS. Now somebody is suggesting that they move the SEC tournament to Illinois.
I just thought this place had reached peak idiocracy.

Everyone who has commented in this thread who has actually attended the tournament in Hoover has said they had a great time and the venue was fine.
Everyone who never has and never will attend the SEC tournament says it sucks.
