OU isn't even Texas' biggest rival. All you have to do is look at this board. Both of their "rivals" are playing this weekend and Texas fans are completely ignoring one and agsessed with the other as usual. The only reason they even claim OU is their "real rival" is they think it is a dig at A&M and that they wouldn't lower themselves to consider A&M a rival. All of their traditions are about A&M and both schools talk about the other in their fight songs (Texas fight song is literally based off of "Farmer's Fight).
Might as well say that Tennessee is Bama's real rival. Certainly they are rivals and it has traditionally been a big game but the true hate is Auburn/Bama just as it is for Texas/A&M.

That may be true in Texas, but not nationally.
Right now, I think Alabama vs Georgia is the best in the SEC and perhaps the nation now that Michigan sucks again.

Probably want to put Kansas v Missouri on there.
I know it doesn’t get the headlines, but there is some real bad blood there.
OU v Texas is a strange one. It’s usually a more meaningful game in terms of national importance. It comes down to this. Texas would rather beat OU, Texas absolutely loathes losing to A&M.

yep outside of Texas, people view Texas and Texas A&M the same way they view Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
