Arguably Pete Carrolls most talented team. The coaching that year let the team down.

I don't think there was a better big game coach in college football than Pete Carroll. His teams were ALWAYS up for the big games. USC's problem during the Carroll era is that they would frequently lose to a team they weren't supposed to lose to. In 2008, the Trojans blew away a very talented Ohio State squad, only to lose to unranked Oregon State the very next week.

1995 Florida should be there. Loaded team but ran into GOAT. No one was beating 95 NEB

Yep. Going into the title game undefeated, they were averaging 44 points per game and a 28-point margin of victory. The closest any team played them was 11 points in the regular season. They ended up scoring a combined 97 points on the teams who finished #3 and #4 in the final poll (Tennessee and Floida State). They scored 62 on Tennessee and that was Tennessee's only loss.

'86 Miami was a complete monster.Credit PSU in it's 3-8 defense but fricking Jimmy Johnson blew that game.

Only reason I can think of would be a lack of solid competition during the regular season - I mean they beat Oklahoma who finished #3, but other than that not much else.

Doesn't mean they weren't great though. Not sure why they're off the list.

Auburn refused to play an AQ OOC.

While our OOC schedule sucked, our best OOC opponent backed out late and became Oklahoma's best OOC opponent.

Great! Now Bama will claim 3 more titles. ?

Oh I think we have more than enough. We just also can claim the title as being the champion of 2nd place AKA 1st loser.

TIL that Bowling Green was in an AQ conference.
