Can you be more specific instead of generally talking about what "would" have happened? There's nothing concrete about your argument.

Ok. There were 4 teams just in the SEC better than South Carolina in 2012: Bama, UF, LSU and A&M. Would you say LSU, UF and A&M all should be on this list?

Cote's shoulder, man. Bama doesn't cheat and break him, that game is over the in the 2nd quarter. No doubt.

(For maximum effect, read this in "Uncle Rico" voice.)

If we're going off record then sure, but if we're going off talent and potential then no. My position for putting Carolina on this list is based off of talent and potential rather than record, and I would hope the writer did the same.

how are you quantifying talent and potential? There have been hundreds of teams with more top to bottom talent than 2012 carolina that did not win a title.

What about 44-11 to Driskel and Muschamp?

Shouldn't be top 5. We had major issues on offense.
Our 01 team was probably Spurrier's most talented. #1 in offense and #3 in defense.

i can't believe yall lost to UT. If yall win that game you easily handle LSU and are facing miami for the title.

The game should've never been postponed after 9/11.

Irrelevant, all that matters is the "potential" and talent on the team.

I'm just going on purely who I think would win games against the other teams that year. If you're going on talent and potential, without looking at who ended up in the NFL, I'd be fairly confident in saying Bama, LSU, UF and A&M all put out more talent than South Carolina. I'm guessing that you place 2010 Bama over 2010 South Carolina if this is how you are judging them?

You don't think they were a great team? I mean our 01 team lost to 7-5 Auburn.

Georgia finished ranked in both polls.

I suspect 01 UF/01 UT/06 LSU were left off because of having 2 losses.

Same logic that you're using to say:

There have been hundreds of teams with more top to bottom talent than 2012 carolina

All subjective and impossible to confirm or deny.

01 UT was a very good team. But we're talking about the 25 best non-title winning teams over 100 years of football, and despite them being elite when they were on and playing really well all season they had 2 head scratching, unexplainable, inexcusable losses to vastly inferior teams. I think that disqualifies them.
