First act from our new AD in July was to extend him. AD came from basketball school. Rodger Denny. Said it would provide continuity lol. frick you Denny!
And now we broke all kinds of futile records. We just lost to Popcorn State!
We need another firing today. This is so pathetic. Moser was given money to build team in off season, that was the claim why we couldn’t get over the hump to make playoffs.
Can we get a discount if we fire Moser and Arbuckle same day?
I am speechless this is a sad day in mens basketball at OU.

Wait - East Texas A&M is a real school? I thought this was all just a joke of some sort.

At least the AD was able to extend Venables early in the season.

Lions were 298th in KenPom entering game.
Prior to Monday, OU had won 22 of its past 23 season openers. Sooners had also won 30 consecutive non-conference games at home.

Formerly known as East Texas State and more recently Texas A&M Commerce.

OU is just a poorly run athletic program

Yikes
I don’t even know where East Texas A&M is.
Probably out west somewhere and the antithesis of gayA&M.

KenPom preseason ratings are dumb.

From our brand new AD in March after Porter missed the playoffs.

At Oklahoma, we’ve had a long history of embodying an underdog spirit. And in men’s basketball, that mentality has often led to us outperforming our resources. It’s on Coach Moser to make sure that our team’s performance continues to meet and exceed our resources for the program. He’s done that and I’m confident he will continue to.
But an underdog spirit will only take us so far. It’s my job to ensure that our resources match our expectations. We haven’t held up our end of that bargain. From NIL to staffing and beyond, we’re going to fix that.
On top of how we resource our program, it’s critical our fans show out for our team. I’ve seen firsthand the difference community support of college basketball can make. A bigger and louder crowd, a true home-court advantage, and a zealous fan base are all essential to our success.
Oklahoma Men’s Basketball is a proud program. We’re going to restore that pride, together.

He officially took over on 1 July but was acting while other AD was still in office until 30 Jun. Officially extended Porter in July. I believe 1 year only but that was too long. Wasted year.

It’s not good, but it is Game 1 of college basketball season. Breathe.

Dude, tonight’s win over Oklahoma was East Texas A&M’s first ever win against a power conference program.
No way no how you can lose to popcorn state and salvage your season. It ain’t happening
Per ESPN Research, East Texas A&M's win over Oklahoma is the second-largest Division-I upset by spread in the last 30 years.
Oklahoma closed as a 28.5-point favorite.
The only bigger upset came when Eastern Illinois beat Iowa in 2022 as a 30.5-point underdog.
