Tough news for Texas but on a serious note, do we think this guy was getting really overrated? I understand he was a 5-star back in high school but his yards per carry were much lower than other Texas backs last season and if you look at PFF he was the lowest graded Texas RB last season (74.4 overall, which is still good, but definitely lower than all others I'm seeing). Brooks was a 91.5 and Blue was a 77.2.

Last year he started the year hurt and didn’t get to peak form til mid season, by which time Johnathan Brooks was locked in as RB1. Baxter is a big back and got a lot of calls between the tackles.
Baxter put in the work his freshman year (pass blocking) and was ready to lead this year.
Texas offense has a lot of weapons and will be okay without Baxter, but you hate to lose your #1 before the season starts.

Sounds like Rueben Owens is gonna miss several months. I blame this post for the bad karma that A&M just had.

FYI not seeing 1 thing on Owens on TexAgs or google. Just one UT fan page post on Twitter. Thats highly suspicious.

If no one has informed anyone yet, the new regime at A&M has made it known that all negative/injury news out of practice gets announced by the AD now, and any deviation from it will get your practice access revoked.
Texags got slapped on the wrist regarding this earlier and it looks like they are going to make everyone else keep in line.
So for now, my guess is any negative news about A&M will be broke by the Texas boards. Most of it will be horse traded by the A&M boards in the background so they can then report on the reporting to try and skirt the new rules...
