The current Texas administration is tightly connected with Gov. Abbot. Seems like they want to expand campuses, maybe add another med school, etc. I am glad progressive ideals doesn't seem to be foremost on their mind, and they care about winning athletics.
Texas got the right leadership in just in time for joining the SEC.

That would be why I had the eyeroll emoticon right next to it. I was mocking the guy who was stating that Texas is some lefty haven. Hartzell is not some left leaning lunatic and although there are obviously a lot of liberals, you can be a conservative just like at any other school.

This is only because it was the will of the Governor and Board of Reagents. Hartzell and the rest didn't really have a choice if they want to keep their jobs.

Grew up in San Antoino. Only Texas school I applied to was A&M. Got an automatic Lechner Scholarship I think due to PSAT score. This was long ago.
Went to Stanford undergrad and UT law school. Loved Austin when it was small and slow (the Austin that Linklater portrayed in Slacker.) Still like Austin but frick it used to be so much cooler when I was cooler.
Met wife there.
Love the University of Texas at Austin.
