Almost witty after the edit.
Almost…

MSU gave UGA a shootout. Kentucky almost beat that arse (1 point game lol). Florida was tied with UGA with 7 min left in the game and a third string QB playing. Auburn was a 1 score game at half.
Not sure why you think any of this disproves what I'm saying.
UGA isn't immune to struggle wins against bottom tier teams in the SEC. That's part of what makes the SEC difficult. You can't overlook anyone or you might have a struggle win turn into a loss.
What Texas has different than other top SEC teams this year is they've only had one team who isn't in the bottom part of the SEC on their schedule. They lost that game.
To the good side, while they've had struggle wins against some of those lower tier teams they don't have losses like Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee have. But they also don't have any wins of note either so far.
The reality is that right now they COULD be a legitimate top 5 team who just had an off game against UGA. But they could also be a team that deserves to be ranked where SC is who just hasn't been tested like SC has.
South Carolina lost to Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss. They beat A&M and Mizzou. If Texas loses to A&M, can you make an argument other than the fact they had an easier schedule than SC had for Texas to be ranked ahead of South Carolina?

And? Had we won vs. Georgia, we'd still have to win out to go to Atlanta. The Georgia loss will only matter if we lose to Kentucky.
Uh... no.
Had you beaten UGA you'd be undefeated in conference. You could lose one of your 2 remaining conference games and you'd still make the SECCG at 7-1.

Can't lie, I realized that after I posted that while walking the dog and hoped no one would notice.

You kind of have to beat some of the good teams too. Texas is 0-1 so far against SEC teams in the top 9. Their wins are against #10, #11, #12, #13 and #16. They play #15 this weekend.
The mark of a good team is that they beat the teams they are supposed to. You could argue we were supposed to beat Georgia and didn’t and so that makes us a bad team, but I think most people give us a pass on that as it was more of equals and a #1 and #3 matchup at the time (if memory serves).
That said we didn’t lose to unranked bad teams unlike…checks notes…bama, lsu, ole miss, Tennessee….

My mistake, I misunderstood what you were saying. Basically what I got from it after reading it again, is that Texas has a tough SOS. Thanks for clearing that up.

I disagree. That's the mark of a consistent team.
MSU has beaten all the teams they are supposed to beat and they are winless in conference. It doesn't mean they're good

That's true, but Indiana hasn't lost to an unranked team yet either. They also haven't beaten a ranked team. Same is true for Penn State.
Right now Texas is as proven as Indiana or PSU. I'd argue all are a bit overrated right now.
Heck, UGA hasn't lost to an unranked team either and beat Texas head to head on the road. I'd say Texas at the top end should be ranked below UGA.

What you should have gotten is that an easy SEC schedule is still more challenging than what a standard Big 12 schedule used to be.
But it's also a lot easier than a "normal" or "hard" SEC schedule.
The more I post in this thread, the more I think that it makes no sense for Texas to be ranked ahead of UGA.
They have no ranked wins while UGA has 3. Both of UGA's losses are to ranked teams just like Texas' single loss is. And UGA beat Texas head to head.
So either Texas is overrated or UGA is underrated because Texas should be ranked behind UGA based on any objective measure.

You make a great argument that Texas is overrated.

If they are it will show.
Don't be jealous. Are U scared they will beat your arse on an even field?

We beat them on their field already. What do you mean by “even field?”

Very fair and reasonable post. Those aren’t allowed here.

Texas’ SOS was higher last year in the big 12
I’m not convinced our schedule is harder..at all
