Don’t misunderstand, I was comparing A&M to Arkansas and Mississippi St. My point is that A&M, with all its resources, is a dumpster fire athletic program and always has been. Sad.

Tennessee is up there as well, however they have definitely accomplished more than A&M

Historically around 16-18 all time.
So out of 300 football teams, there are 284 that are worse off.

Yeah, to continue the comparison, Mississippi State and Arkansas have also had #1 ranked baseball teams recently. One of those actually won the title. What’s your point?

The original post was talking about this century. How many programs have more football success since 2000? And how many have more success that have a fraction of A&M’s resources, fanbase, and recruiting base? For all your advantages, you have really low standards.

What I take from this exchange is that LSU, in a state with roughly the population of Houston, has proven to be a much more successful football program than either Texas or Texas A&M…and it really isn’t close. And let’s not even get started with baseball…

LSU had Saban in the early 2000’s which got them 1 and then Miles lived off what he built for a second. Not repeatable as we are seeing with Bama.
Then a flash in the pan season with Burrow.
LSU has historically been a middle of the pack program prior to Saban and will go back to that unfortunately.

Saban left LSU in 2006….that was 20 years ago…and don’t forget that LSU played for a 4th title as well….
I know you really want that to be true, but it’s a lazy argument built with no logic, reason, and against the facts that have been presented.
