I love it. Probably the only musical I’ve ever loved

There were even a couple outliers in the late 80s early 90s where the game was played more than a week off of thanksgiving

You can thank Jackie Sherrill and RC for that. Honestly weird to think about getting a TV ban these days.

Do not miss it. I don't want a football game on Thanksgiving …. I much prefer keeping Thanksgiving as Thanksgiving

The 1975 game was on the Friday after. I’m not sure why it changed that year. Yes, I’m old, I actually listened to it on the radio.

Yeah, the Thanksgiving game was a great tradition. But given the circumstances, I’ll take a night game on T+1 instead of an 11 am game on Thanksgiving.

I seem to remember a couple of years in the late '90s when the game started at 10 AM.

When we went to the Big XII, at first, ABC wanted our game, and Nebraska/Colorado, both on Black Friday, and one game would start at 10:00 a.m, the idea being to rotate. Because that would be a 9:00 a.m. kickoff in Boulder, they had it set up so that the A&M/Texas game would be at 10 when it was at Kyle every time. That was horrible.

If you look on YouTube, you can find the 1997 game, which was played at 10 a.m. in a driving thunderstorm (no lightning delays back then, even though lightning temporarily knocked out the video board and disrupted the ABC feed). I think the Bonfire game in '99 was a 10 a.m. game as well.

Black Friday games suck, but the suckage increases exponentially as you move earlier in the day (and I'm not one of these people who has a night game fetish).

TV. ABC asked us to move it. I, too, listened to that game on the radio as we were working cattle on the ranch that day (I was 9).

1994 was the only game moved for probation reasons. I explained the others earlier in the thread. People spreading this BS is annoying.
