Yet you've had much less success than they have in Football and the rest of the country thinks of UT as the flagship of that state.

A lot of people can name who won American Idol but don't know who the Speaker of the House is as well.

A&M is a Flagship school just as Texas is. We are bigger and richer than anyone else in the SEC. We are older, larger, and have a larger research spend than Texas and own the State politically (Texas is a dark red state and Aggies produce a bunch of Republicans, the sips are mostly Dems since it is a commie pinko school). The series between the schools is even over the last 35 years so all they have to hold on to is when they ran it up on us for 30 years from WWII on when we were an all male school and they had 3 times the scholarships we did. Virtually every "tradition" that Texas has was in response to A&M from their fight song to their mascot to their nickname Longhorns to their hand sign.

We don't need them, we play in a grown up league now. frick Texas.

We would fricking destroy them in the CB this year. Sumlin knows how big of a recruiting impact a game like that would have and he would not take his foot off the gas.

We don't want to play them and hope they rot in hell, but if we do, I and most aggies I know expect and trust Sumlin and Co. to put their foot down on the accelerator and never let up until we hang 100 on those selfish self-righteous fricktards. They need to be taught a fricking lesson (never to play us again).

You know what you sound a lot like? Someone who has no idea what they are talking about. Texas was our bitch in football several times in our history, most recently from the mid '80s to the mid '90s. Don't know if we will play them anytime soon as they are still so butthurt and I don't really care but we are beating them in every other way that matters now. I know a ton of sips and none of them want to play A&M and Manziel right now, the sips are terrified of us and what we are doing as well they should be. The Big 12 is a Dumpster Fire.

Interesting.

This took me 5 seconds to find via Google.

quote:

The University of Texas at Austin is the most popular alma mater among Texas’ 181 state legislators, boasting 36 alums. Next are the University of Houston (21 lawmakers), Texas A&M University (19), Baylor University (14), Southern Methodist University (12), Texas Tech University (12), Texas Southern University (10), Harvard University (9), St. Mary’s University (8) and UT-Arlington (7).

Sounds like y'all own the state politically to me.

Must be all those sidewalk Ags.

Well, if you were a Texan you would know that the legislature is only convened every two years for 140 days... if they want to go any longer than that, the Arizona grad Lt. Governor and Vandy grad Speaker of the house has to get the Aggie governor to approve a special session.

The best legislature is one that can't legislate... any you'd also know that all of the appointed positions in government have been appointed by Gov. Goodhair since he's been in office so long.

Yeah, well, none of that shite you just spewed adds up to "Aggies own this state politically".

Keep deflecting though.

frick those queers. I don't give a frick if we NEVER play those homos in ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. They are like UTEP or Texas State. I don't want to play that shitty second-rate program.

If the Cotton Bowl makes this selection, I would only accept if we get to use SEC refs. frick JTaylor and the rest of the Longhorn officials.

Well, I added the fact that all the appointed boards of regents, systems officials, etc. have all been appointed by Perry.

The fact of the matter is, the grip that the legislature had on the policy of Texas A&M university is greatly diminished since A&M is less reliant upon dollars appropriated by the legislature. We were kept out of the SEC before by Baylor and Tech alums, but they are no longer in power and would have less of it, anyway.

Take a gander at TexAgs, genro. I'd welcome the opportunity to poleaxe texas in front of the entire nation in a Cotton Bowl matchup. I hope to GOD this somehow happens! I might just break the bank to make it to Jerryworld witness the beatdown.

I have a feeling an A&M reign of terror is about to begin under Sumlin in the state of Texas.

There are DARK days ahead for the younger school in austin if they keep Mack Brown and the status quo and Sumlin and A&M keep gaining steam.

Not SEC related, per se, but a big deal if the balance of football talent in the state shifts decidedly to A&M.

Texas needs to part ways with Mack Brown. He's lost his edge and needs to retire.

Most texas fans I talk to agree with you. Personally, I hope he wins just enough this year to justify keeping him around a little bit longer so A&M can solidify a stronghold in the state, but we'll see how it shakes out. Gonna be interesting!

I have prayed to God, Buddha, Allah, and even the 7 Shinto Gods that the sips keep Mack Brown for at least 3 more years. I was even rooting for the homos during the Tech game to make sure he stays at the end of this year.

The Governor who has been in office for 12 years is an Aggie and has appointed every member of the Higher Ed Coordinating Board and the BoR to both A&M and Texas. The Senate Finance Committee Chair (By FAR the most powerful Senator) is an Aggie and his incoming replacement is also an Aggie. The 2 primary candidates for Lt Governor for the next election are both Aggies. It's not about volume, it's about where they are and how much power they have. A&M controls the offices with the most power and we have been able to do anything we want for the last decade evidenced by how quickly we bitchslapped Texas when they tried to stop our SEC move.
