Well, Texas is all about bragging. Kind of reminds me of the other Texas school.

The Rant…

Seriously, I love being in a conference with other big names. Getting to play the Bamas, LSUs, Fla, Georgia in all sports, and reunited rivalries w Arkansas, Aggie.

It could be argued that we’re doing better in SEC than we did in Big 12; I’m a big believer that teams either play up to (or get crushed by) the level of the competition. The SEC schedule commands an every game focus due to the competition level. So what I like most is being among the best.

Most of the success of Texas over the last 2 years is the NIL game launching. They finally get to openly pay for the team and the money is free flowing.

We all do it now, but we can’t act like NIL hasn’t launched Texas back up to the top.

"You'll never win anything in the sec"
"The sec is a grind there are no weeks off"
"You only win because of your schedule"
"You're not in the big 12 any more"
"You aren't sec ready"
....
"God those texas fans are arrogant"

for my answer? What's not to love? The passion is here, the talent, the competition. It's great.

To be fair they’ve effectively backed it up. SEC runner up in football and a deep postseason run. Danced in roundball (by the skin of their teeth, but they did make it) and they’re about to close out the regular season title in baseball.

We can talk about the schedule all we want, but they are getting results and have situated themselves in the conference quite comfortably.

In the only 3 sports that actually matter what have they won?

Being a Stanford school that sweeps all the country club sports is nice and deserves recognition but Idk if I'd say Texas is "dominating the conference" at this point

Agree w this. Had to beat GA at least one of those games, and men’s basketball is a bit of a mess. But definitely “SEC ready” and doing very well.

The level of competition and pageantry is head and shoulders better than the dwindling level of the BIG12. Nice to compete with other major state flagship universities.
Recruiting footprint for Texas in all sports has expanded as we now have better access to the SE part of the US, yet still have a pretty good handle on the AZ and Cali recruits.

Edit, I started lurking Tiger Droppings around 2017. The banter and discussions through Tiger Droppings has been a big pro to being a part of the SEC. Really appreciate TD.

And one more thing, The Rant is going to be a great megaphone for when Texas destroys this mom and pop redneck conference!

Who the frick says we're "dominating"?. We're not. We are, however, competing and that's really all we can ask for.

The scenery and the towns mostly. OU is still winning Championships in softball and gymnastics so that hasn't changed. OU sucked worse.than they did last year their first 3 years in the Big 12 in football before dominating it. Expecting to take a.huge leap forward this year.

Everything is more intense. Opposing fan hatred, level of play, national attention, my own personal interest in matchups, regardless of sport, are all on steroids now.

I also like the resurgence of the Big Ten and the two conference battle for supremacy. I may even develop some conference pride.

In the SEC we both don't have to carry a conference full of parasites and complainers. Here we have big brands and it's nice being with other big fish, tbh.

This is interesting. Are you referring to the passion of the players/teams or the passion of the fans? Or maybe both. How does it compare to the Big 12?
