re: Texas & OU fans: if you could have sex with a former player, who would it be?

Freddie Steinmark. Played in the 1969 Texas vs Arkansas game with a malignant bone tumor in his left leg and had it amputated less than a week later. He received the game ball after the 1970 cotton bowl
No he’s not, you just wanted to sound like an old hard arse.

All of that transpired a little over 20 years before I was born, but it's still an incredibly inspiring story. He died approximately a year and a half after that season concluded but his memory lives on.

Adrian Peterson was my favorite. I’ve seen a lot of good ones but every time he touched the ball you just knew something good was gonna happen.

For Texas I like that Sam Ehlinger kid, a fighter, loves his school with all his heart.

Aggies may have liked Gardere, but OU didn't
1989 - Texas 28, #15 OU 24
1990 - Texas 14, #4 OU 13
1991 - Texas 10, #6 OU 7
1992 - Texas 34, #16 OU 24
Only QB in the series to ever go 4-0 against the other team.
And those were good OU teams, but not particularly good Texas teams aside from the 1990 "Shock The Nation Tour" team. But then we got thrashed by Miami 46-3 in the Cotton Bowl. Ouch.

Vince Young. Won us the title in '05 and if not for racism, the rightful Heisman trophy winner.

There was still a bias against black QBs.
Vince>Reggie Even Ray Charles could see that.

I guess Charlie Ward got lucky about two decades earlier then. Oh, and Andre Ware too before that.
I'm not saying Vince Young didn't deserve it that year but Reggie Bush also had some crazy numbers and I don't think race had anything to do with it.

The Gary Gibbs era. Those losses got him fired

I liked him too, I don't think he ever had a rushing TD against Texas...or am I wrong?

Almost as good as Pullig.
Pretty similar careers. 4 year starters. Multiple records. Grudging respect from fanbases, but not Mt. Rushmore adoration.
One difference: Pullig was 3-1 against Texas. Gardere was 1-3 against A&M.

Yea I believe you are right. Me and a friend was talking about this a week or two ago. I thought he didn't run one in but my friend said he had.

I don’t really have a favorite player but one that is in high regard who I saw in person many times, including 2001 vs. Texas, is Roy Williams. He was a defensive juggernaut and became Superman because of this iconic play late in the fourth quarter. Oklahoma was up 7-3, and The Play happened. Lehman intercepts Chrissy Simms, and scores a TD sealing the 14-3 win for the Sooners.
2001 was an awesome and chaotic year for the Big XII. OU’s national championship hopes were dashed against Oklahoma State in Norman. Texas would later have a shot at the BCS title game before falling to Colorado in the CCG.
